We are deeply saddened to hear the news of the passing of Mark Wylie.
The Drakes of Hazard was a fantastic hit for our show for many years and will be sorely missed.
Sending our condolences to all his family from all at Bunessan Show ❤️
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our dad, Mark Wylie, the heart and character behind Drakes of Hazard, who passed away on 6 February 2026.
What began as a farm diversification idea in 2001, born from Dad’s passions and the need to adapt during the Foot and Mouth restrictions, grew into one of Scotland’s premier arena entertainment acts. Over 25 years Drakes of Hazard evolved into a unique and much loved show, appearing at agricultural shows, country fairs and events across the country, entertaining thousands of people along the way.
Dad had a rare gift for connecting with crowds. His humour, warmth and natural showmanship made every performance memorable. His talents took him to significant stages, performing before large audiences, celebrities and royalty, and even onto television screens with appearances including Blue Peter.
To the public he was the Farmer, Charmer and Duck Tamer, but to us he was simply Dad, a devoted father in law and a proud Grampa. His legacy is not only the business he built, but the joy and laughter he brought to so many people.
We want to sincerely thank everyone who supported Drakes of Hazard and Dad over the past 25 years. Your support, bookings, messages and friendships meant the world to him and to our family.
His show may have taken its final bow, but his story, spirit and memories will live on.
With heartfelt thanks,
Lewis and Struan Wylie
