Last night, The Circular Mindset, Sustainable Bude and Bude Friends of the Earth hosted a community screening of the People's Emergency Briefing at The 2 Minute Foundation HQ.
Although the film tackles the climate and nature crisis, the overwhelming feeling in the room was one of hope.
On a sunny evening, 47 people filled every seat (with some standing at the back!), with people travelling from Holsworthy and Newquay to be part of the conversation.
After the film, the room was buzzing as people discussed everything from food security and growing more local food to building stronger community support networks here in Bude.
A huge thank you to our brilliant panel – Clare Giner, Simon Browning and Emma Newberry – and to everyone who came along, shared their thoughts and made the evening such a success.
This is just the beginning. We'll be sharing the ideas from the evening with Cornwall Climate Action Network and our local MP, Ben Maguire MP, to explore how we can turn these conversations into action.
Community is powerful, and last night was a brilliant reminder of what can happen when people come together with a shared purpose.
