This Wednesday 1st July we are holding an open evening at the Barge Workshop at Helebridge from 7pm to 8.30pm. There will be wine, soft drinks and nibbles available. It is a chance to come and see the preserved Tub Boat and other artefacts. Normally the Barge Workshop is only open on Sunday afternoons from July to September so this is a chance to visit for those who find Sunday afternoons difficult.

Work going to restore the old bypass culvert at Whalesborough Weir. It seems to have been part of the original construction and I have always thought it may have been part of the silt control system, may be opening it on a Sunday when there was no canal traffic and flushing a batch of silt down the river.
