Bude Beekeepers next winter meeting is this Thursday 27 November at Bude Golf Club - meet 5:30pm to get a drink in the bar and then the talk / discussion will be in the upstairs room at 6:00pm. We will finish at 7:30pm.

The topic will be ‘'A Taste of Honey' tasting and talk with Grant McTaggart from Tintagel Honey. We last hosted Grant in early 2020 and that was a very enjolyable informative talk and tasting. This time Grant is bringing 12 honeys including chestnut, a very dark and strong honey contrasting with Himalayan Balsam which makes a very light one, and a surprise one from the Arbutus unedo, strawberry tree.

Please come along, learn lots and have a chat with other beekeepers. This is an open meeting welcoming members and non-members.

Bude Beekeepers have our first evening winter meeting this Thursday 30 October at Bude Golf Club - meet 5:30pm to get a drink in the bar and then the talk / discussion will be in the upstairs room at 6:00pm. We will finish at 7:30pm.

The topic will be ‘The role of the castes’ lead by Sean Stephenson, Master Beekeeper and BBKA examiner. We have previously enjoyed and benefitted from his talks and the discussions afterwards and they are highly recommended. Sean will explain how the Queen keeps the colony together and all the jobs that workers have throughout their lives to ensure a healthy, happy hive - did you know some are undertakers! And of course what the drones get up to!
