🎉☕ What an amazing afternoon at **Brynmawr Social Club** as our fantastic Interactors hosted a delicious Afternoon Tea in support of the Family of Rotary’s **World Polio Day** celebrations! 🌍💜

Despite the wet weather ☔, guests enjoyed wonderful food, great company, and inspiring talks about Rotary’s commitment to **End Polio Now** from Interact President Liv, Interactors Gracie and Betsey, and District Governor Brian. 🎤👏
Our guests were also presented with a pack of crocus corms to plant The purple crocus is the symbol of End Polio Now as a reminder of the purple dye used to show that children have been immunised.

💰 Together we raised:
✅ £350 for **End Polio Now** through the Afternoon Tea, which will be matched 2 to 1 by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, so £1050 in total.
✅ A further £225 thanks to Rotarian Christine’s **Walk A Mile to End Polio** 🚶‍♀️
✅ £213 from our fantastic raffle for the **Family of Rotary Christmas Hamper Project** 🎁🎄

So, while the weather may have been gloomy, there was plenty to brighten the afternoon! 🌟
❤️ A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came along, supported the event, bought raffle tickets, donated, and helped make the afternoon such a success. Your generosity brings us one step closer to a polio-free world while also supporting local community projects. Special thanks to our incredible Interactors, whose enthusiasm, dedication, and hard work continue to inspire us all. We are so proud of everything you do for our community and beyond. 🌟👏

We are delighted to announce that our Brynmawr Family of Rotary World Polio Day Afternoon Tea is SOLD OUT! 🎉☕🍰

A huge thank you to everyone who has bought tickets and supported this special event. Your support means so much to us, and together we are helping to make a difference both locally and around the world. 💜

🌍 Why is End Polio Now so important?

The global End Polio Now campaign, supported by Rotary International and its partners, is working to eradicate polio worldwide. Polio is a highly infectious disease that can cause permanent paralysis and, in some cases, death. Although cases have fallen by more than 99% since Rotary began its global eradication efforts in 1988, the job is not finished.

Children everywhere deserve the chance to grow up free from this preventable disease. Continued vaccination, awareness and fundraising are vital to protecting future generations and ensuring polio never threatens children again. 💉🌍

📉 Since 1988, polio cases worldwide have fallen by more than 99%, thanks to vaccination and the efforts of the global eradication partnership. But until polio is eradicated everywhere, children remain at risk.

Thank you for helping us support this important cause. Every act of kindness, every conversation and every contribution helps bring us closer to a world free from polio. 💜💛

🎄 BRYNMAWR ROTARY CHRISTMAS HAMPER APPEAL 2026 🎄

Since 2020, our Christmas Hamper Appeal has helped local individuals and families experiencing hardship during the festive season.

Our hampers provide Christmas dinner essentials, everyday food items and some festive treats to help make Christmas a little brighter. ❤️

You can support the appeal by donating food, making a financial contribution, fundraising or helping us prepare the hampers.

Every contribution, big or small, can make a meaningful difference. 🎁
