Spring feels possible now and it’s time to get back into the garden!

Thanks to Climate Action West Lothian for the funding, we’re proud to show you our new sign!

Put up on the fence today thanks to volunteers Kenny and Alex, hopefully it encourages you to pop in for a look around if the gate is open, pick up some veg or even become a volunteer yourself.

We’re in the deep midwinter, but we can still do some work in the garden. Tomorrow is 12th Night and if you’re getting rid of a real tree, why not drop it off at the community garden. Folks who did this last year helped us build this ‘dead hedge’. These are a great way to encourage insects and small animals to stay in the garden and we would use your tree to top this up. Just drop it beside the bottle bank and we’ll do the rest!

Thankyou, the Golden harvest will be all around West Lothian and glowing from space... Thankyou to Ken, the very generous farmer who donated these to our floriferous journey.

We have a tonne of Daffodils (around 5k) to start planting on Saturday in the park. Great activity for all the family, come and grab spades, bulbs and planting plan this Saturday 13th September 1pm - 4pm 🌼

Look at this chunky lady... I believe this is Misumena vatia... The flower crab spider. Best known for its ability to change colour, awaiting the arrival of pollinating insects for lunch...

After a monumental task to pick up several thousand beautiful bulbs we're happy to announce, they made it to the care of SRUC. Just look at these beauties we're going to be planting this season. Golden harvest daffodils. We should see this lot from space...

Thanks to everyone who entered the competition at the Open Day to guess the weight of the pumpkin. It weighed 7.25kg or 16lbs. The closest guess was 6.9kg, by Janet and Shugg and Libby were runners up. Winners - check your texts for an invitation to pick up your prize at the garden on Sunday!

On 11am to 3pm. Bring a little cash if you want to take delicious tomatoes home for a small
