Brora Community Council

Brora Community Council The Brora Community Council (BCC) represents the community and serves as its voice. Your voice matters, so have your say!

A voluntary body established by statute through the Local Authority, it is run by local residents to advocate for their area. Welcome to the Brora Community Council (BCC) page! We are a volunteer-led group that shares our work and discusses local issues that matter to our community. We’d love for you to be part of the conversation. Please engage respectfully and help keep this a safe and

welcoming space. As we are run by volunteers, we may not always be able to respond immediately to matters raised, but we appreciate your input and engagement. The BCC is a publicly elected body representing the community of Brora and the surrounding area of Clyne Parish. Community councils are the most local tier of statutory representation in Scotland. They bridge the gap between local authorities and communities and help to make public bodies aware of the opinions and needs of the communities they represent. The Highland Council has statutory oversight of community councils and is required to consult community councils about planning applications and licensing matters.

After a long wait, we are delighted to finally share that Brora Bairns now has our Lead in place and we are aiming to officially launch the club after the summer holidays! 🎉

This is something we know many local families have been waiting for, and we are excited to finally start bringing this project to life for the children in our community.

At the moment, with one Lead, we can safely accommodate up to 8 children per session. In order to increase numbers and offer places to more children, we urgently need additional volunteers and assistants to join us.

You do not need to commit to every session — any help, experience or support would be hugely appreciated. This is a fantastic opportunity to help create a fun, safe and welcoming space for local children after school.

We are also looking for additional members to join our Board and help support the future development of Brora Bairns CIC.

✅ Online Booking System
We will shortly be sharing our online booking system with parents to allow places to be booked in advance. If anyone is unable to book online but would still like to secure a place, please just get in touch and we will be happy to help.

💷 Session Contribution
To help towards the ongoing running costs of the club, we will be asking for a small contribution of £1 per child per session. This will help towards activity materials, snacks, hall costs, insurance, equipment and general running expenses, helping us keep the club affordable and sustainable for the community.

If you would like to volunteer, help in any way, or join the Board, please send us a message — we would love to hear from you.

Thank you again to everyone who has supported and encouraged this project so far ❤️
