Meet the Team – Roy, one of our School Bus Drivers 🚌

As a new school year gets underway, we’d like to introduce you to another of our school bus drivers.

Roy operates one of our school transport services just outside Bromyard, helping local students get safely to and from school each day.

He also occasionally volunteers as a driver for Bromyard Community Transport, so you may spot Roy out and about in one of our minibuses too!

We’re pleased to have Roy as part of the BCT team and wish all our young passengers a happy and successful school year. 😊

Meet the Team – Pete, our School Bus Driver

As the new school year gets underway, we’d like to introduce you to Pete, who helps make sure our local students get safely to and from school each day.

Pete is one of those wonderfully cheerful people who is always happy to help, and when he’s not behind the wheel of our school bus, he generously gives his spare time as a volunteer driver for Bromyard Community Transport.

We’re incredibly grateful for the time, skills and good humour Pete brings to BCT. 💙

So, here’s to all our local students heading back to school — have a brilliant year, enjoy the journey and keep smiling! 🎒📚🚌

And a big thank you, Pete, for helping keep our community moving.

MEET THE TEAM: Lawrie

Lawrie is not only one of our fantastic volunteer drivers, but he is the Treasurer on the Board of Directors.

Lawrie brings years of experience to support the team with all things finance, amongst his other duties being a board member.

MEET THE TEAM: John

John is not only a brilliant volunteer driver, but he is also the Chairman of BCT! A key role in any non-for-profit organisation, steering the ship and overseeing strategy and governance.

Today is John's birthday, so not only a big thank you to him for all he does - but we wish John the best day from all the team at BCT HQ. 🥳Happy Birthday

MEET THE TEAM: Jackie

Jackie is our Transport Co-ordinator, working part time in the office on Thursdays and Fridays. Along with Anita, and support from Julie, her main role is taking requests for customer trips and arranging drivers accordingly; she also voluntarily drives customers in her free time.

Last but not least, Jackie is the proud mum of our office dog, Chaz. Jackie is our longest serving member of staff and we are very grateful for all she does

MEET THE TEAM: Elaine

Elaine is our fantastic office volunteer, encompassing clerical duties and other various errands that keep the office team on track.
Elaine began volunteering after using BCT for her elderly father and is now a key member of the team and much appreciated. 🙏

C7 are our wonderful local garage in Bromyard who support BCT and keep our fleet on the road. This is Dee and Ally from the C7 team as we dropped one of our minibuses in for its 10 Week Check. Thank you to all at C7 🙏

MEET THE TEAM Julie – Fleet Co-ordinator 🚐

Julie looks after our fleet of three minibuses and Volkswagen Caddy, as well as planning and organising our monthly outings and shopping trips. She also works with the local council on our two school transport contracts and helps promote our minibus hire to local charities and not-for-profit organisations.

MEET THE TEAM: Jon Chartres is the Operation Manager of BCT. As well as supporting the team, he reports to the board of Directors and oversees the recruitment of volunteers. We are always after new volunteers so please get in touch for more information if you are interested! BCT is a small non-for-profit organisation which also relies on grant funding and donations. Extra donations are always welcome! Every penny counts.

Outside of BCT, Jon is a Chartered Accountant and runs his own practice dealing with clients in the arts and charity sector. He is a Trustee of 2Faced Dance Company and the Treasurer of Flash Theatre Productions CIC, both based in Hereford. He is a keen runner, with the support of Smart Performance Coaching and tries to get out for a jog first thing in the morning to set him up for the day.
