As we age, our bodies don't regulate our temperatures as well as they used to. So, for older people, especially those with health conditions, heatwaves can be dangerous.

Our Chief Executive, Paul Farmer, spoke to BBC Breakfast this morning about how older people can stay safe and how important it is to check in on the older people around you, especially in a heatwave.

Join us at the Roves Farm Seniors Friendship Café, a relaxed monthly gathering hosted by Roves Farm and Home Instead Charities.

This month, our Faringdon Friendship and Memories Café will take place on 8th June, with a special guest singer!

Kindly sponsored by Rotary Club of Faringdon & District and supported by Dementia Oxfordshire, this group is always a friendly, inclusive space run by Home Instead Charities UK volunteers.

Whether you’re affected by dementia, supporting a loved one, or simply looking for a relaxed afternoon and a friendly chat over tea, you’ll find a warm welcome here.

The afternoon begins with refreshments and light‑hearted activities, followed by plenty of conversation and finishes on a high note with a cheerful sing‑along to lift the spirits.

No booking required, just turn up at 2pm!
