A huge thank you to everyone who supported us this year for the amazing Christmas 🎄 tree festival, we attracted over 800 people into the church throughout the festival period , accumulated over 600 votes , made hundreds of cups of teas and served cakes galore ! The winning tree …. Drum roll ….with 139 votes was ….The Royal British Legion … a well deserved win ! Funds raised were £800 which will support future events and repairs to the church where required. The RBL will receive a small token / prize shortly . Many thanks The Heritage friends Group .

Join us Christmas Eve at 9pm for a service at St Michael and all angels church, Stoke Prior , after the service our restored Handbells will be used to present Christmas carols from our newly formed group with refreshments served after the service , all welcome to attend.

Heritage friend’s Halloween event .
For anyone looking for a fun event for the children this Saturday 1st November here is a bit of information about our Halloween night.

meeting at the village hall at 6pm. We have a fancy dress competition, best dressed ghouls win a prize, girls and boys , Moms and dads included ! We will be serving hot frogs and blood, with deadly juice ( sausages and ketchup… Fruitshoots) at approx 6.45 we will gather everyone to walk the small distance to the field next door , it’s been created as a mock cemetary, the stoke prior dance academy will perform bump in the night and after that we will be having a display of fireworks , this will last approx 20-25 mins . Once we have finished children will be given a goody bag. The cost is £3 pp please message if your planning on attending as we cannot go over 70 people. Parking allowed on the village hall, Strictly NO PETS, and our fireworks are NOT silent . Thanks in advance for the support . The Heritage Fiends .

Thanks to all who supported the Quiz last night at the village hall, we had a brilliant evening, lots of fun and a great turn out ! The winning team Skippys mates donated the winnings back to the heritage friends group THANK YOU SO MUCH …. We work tirelessly to hold events throughout the year, all of our proceeds go back into supporting the heritage of the local area and the church … a special shout out to Elaine and Lisa who managed the raffle for us xx and of course our Heritage team thank you xx

Well what a weekend that was ! Saturday was pretty naff weather wise so to our advantage tea and cake in the dry warm church seemed a better option for some ! Over 80 people through the doors with lots of focus on the village heritage especially with the looming plans for more homes ! How we keep our heritage alive and in focus is key to us as a team every day so it was wonderful sharing our in-depth knowledge ! Moving onto Sunday a beautiful day full of sunshine and a further 60 plus people visited us … all in all we were very happy with our footfall ! We nearly ran out of cake ! Jokes aside thanks to all who supported us we are extremely grateful. Xx next event is the quiz night 18th October, interested ? Join us this weekend At Stoke Prior church , we have many historic artifacts , pictures and photos on display all weekend , our local historian Sue will be on hand to talk you through any questions or queries you may have about the area, Alison will be serving teas and cakes , entry is free and if you visit 3 HOD events/sites this weekend you can enter a prize draw that Redditch and Bromsgrove councils have created.
We are opened 9-6 each day with refreshments on sale between 10-4pm .

Three up and coming events from your Heritage friends group
1. The HOD Weekend at Stoke Priors Saint Michael and all Angels church on the 20/21 September both days 9-6 with refreshments available from 10am-4pm

2. A Quiz night at the Stoke Prior village hall B604DN .. includes drink on arrival Wine Prosecco or a none alcoholic choice with a fish and chip supper served at half time , this promises to be a fabulous fun filled night with tickets on sale at £12.50 a head teams of 6 are invited to take part , we have a £50 first prize for the winning team and a fantastic raffle . 18th October 7pm start

3. Halloween spooktacular with fireworks , a best dressed ghoul competition, hot frogs served with drinks and goody bags for every child . Starting at the Stoke Prior village hall concluding in the spooky fields for a firework display . 1st November 6.30pm tickets £7.50 per adult £5 per child
