World Thinking Day is a celebration of 10 million girls worldwide that has taken place on every 22 February since 1926 - making it 100 years old today! It remains a day for Girl Guides and Girl Scouts to think of each other and celebrate their communities all around the world.

💼✨ I Accidentally Applied for the Weirdest Job… ✨💼
And now I’m a Girlguiding volunteer. 😅

📝 The job ad (unofficially):
– Salary: £0
– Hours: “just a little each week” 🫠
– Uniform: Hi-vis, mud, and glitter in permanent places ✨
– Team: 14 small legends, 1 rogue stick insect, and a camp mascot named Olivia 🐛

🧃 Key responsibilities include:
– Nodding along like I understand Roblox conversations
– Crafting under extreme pressure (with no glue sticks and 4 minutes to go)
– Mediating passionate debates about whether jam or chocolate goes on s’mores first
– Saying “yes” to glitter and “no” to sanity

🔥 Real perks:
– Laughing until you cry at something that makes no logical sense
– Being declared “the best adult ever” for opening a juice box
– Becoming strangely proud of your badge-organising system
– That moment a shy kid high-fives you without being asked 🥹

💙 I thought I didn’t have time.
Now I’ve got purpose, three new campfire songs stuck in my head, and very strong opinions about felt-tip pens.

I get to be the person I needed when I was growing up.
I get to be ridiculous.
I get to matter.

💚 Think you don’t have time?
Maybe what you really need is something that makes time feel like it matters again…
That — and a gang of tiny humans who think you’re an absolute legend they’ll never forget.

💙 Why do Girlguiding volunteers do it?

It’s not for the pay (we checked — still £0 💸).

It’s not for the glamour (we’ve worn more glitter glue ✨ and mud 🪵 than most five-year-olds).

And it’s definitely not for the peace and quiet (have you ever tried to keep 20 Guides quiet during a badge ceremony? 😅).

We do it for that moment — when a girl tries something new, surprises herself, and grins like she’s just conquered Everest 🏔️💪.

We do it for the friendships 💕, the laughter 😂, the late-night campfire songs 🔥, and the pride that comes from helping girls find their confidence and voice 🌈.

You can’t put a price on that.
(But you can put a badge on it 😉🏅)
