Homesdale Road, Bromley will be closed overnight from Tuesday 01/09 for up to four consecutive nights for carriageway resurfacing.
The road will be closed between the hours of 20:00 – 05:00 each night, with signed diversions in place for motorists. The section of road being resurfaced is between the junction of Page Heath Lane and Woldham Road.

The resurfacing works will start at the junction of Page Heath Lane and progress along the road over the four night period.

There will be temporary traffic signals in place (related to the works) at the junction of Page Heath Lane / Tylney Road / Page Heath Villas on the first night of the works.

Residents affected by the closure have been sent a letter with a contact number to use if they experience problems getting access to their homes.

Note - this is in addition to the emergency work currently being carried out by Thames Water causing disruption at either side of the railway bridge - work repairing that leak will have to be finished before the resurfacing work starts.

🚧 ROADBLOCKS FROM HELL! 🚧

Motorists are being warned of major disruption across Bromley as six roads are set to be affected by Network Rail bridge works from Tuesday, 26 August.

📍 Affected roads:
• Barfield Road, Bickley
• Chislehurst Road, Chislehurst
• Elmstead Lane, Chislehurst
• Lubbock Road, Chislehurst
• Mill Brook Road, St Mary Cray
• Upper Elmers End Road, Beckenham

Expect road closures, diversions, one-way systems and parking restrictions while the works are underway. The traffic order can remain in place for up to 18 months, although individual works are expected to be much shorter.

⚠️ If you use these routes regularly, plan ahead and allow extra time for your journey.

Updates On Widmore Road, Bickley Park Road/Summer Hill & Orchard Road

1. Widmore Road Update

Thames Water have now fixed the water leak at Widmore Road. They have been on site today (Thursday 23/07) removing undermining / void from underneath the road surface and will be returning late today to backfill the excavations.

There is reinforced concrete at this location, which is being laid tomorrow (Friday 24/07) and this will take between 3-5 days to cure.

We are currently expecting the road to remain closed until Wednesday 29/07, but there is a lot of consequential damage to be repaired to the highway – including relaying paving on one footway too.

We will provide further information early next week on Thames Water’s progress here.

2. Bickley Park Road / Summer Hill Update

Thames Water have advised that the reinstatement will be completed at Bickley Park Road / Summer Hill on Saturday 25/07 with the temporary traffic signals expected to be removed late on Saturday afternoon / evening.

3. Orchard Road Update

SGN will be closing Orchard Road on Monday 27/07 for gas main replacement work. Local signed diversions will be in place for motorists.

The Council are unable to delay SGN’s road closure any later than Monday as if it’s further delayed then SGN’s works / road closure may impact the start of the school term in September and these works are outside two schools.
