Upcoming Daily Network Rail Road Closures At Barfield Road, Bickley - From Monday 12/10

Network Rail will be closing Barfield Road, Bickley from Monday 12/10 for up to 17 consecutive days whilst they complete maintenance works and paint their railway bridge.

The road will be closed at the railway bridge, in between the junctions of Gosshill Road and Coates Hill Road, between the hours of 09:00-18:00 each day.

This is a cul-de-sac, with no alternative vehicular access, therefore marshalls will be on site to assist residents/motorists with access through the works area, however there will be traffic delays for any travelling through as Network Rail can only suspend their works when safe to do so.

This will affect motorists that park in Gosshill Road, from the Barfield Road end.

TRAGIC INCIDENT AT BICKLEY STATION — STATION CURRENTLY CLOSED

We are deeply saddened by reports that a person has been struck by a train at Bickley Station in Bromley.

The station is currently closed, with no trains operating and no access for members of the public at this time.

Our thoughts are with the person involved, their loved ones and, most importantly, their family during what is an incredibly difficult and heartbreaking time.

Please respect the family’s privacy and avoid sharing speculation or unconfirmed information.

Our deepest condolences go to the family and everyone affected by this tragic incident. 🖤

Four people have been injured in a reported stabbing in a London high street.

Homesdale Road, Bromley will be closed overnight from Tuesday 01/09 for up to four consecutive nights for carriageway resurfacing.
The road will be closed between the hours of 20:00 – 05:00 each night, with signed diversions in place for motorists. The section of road being resurfaced is between the junction of Page Heath Lane and Woldham Road.

The resurfacing works will start at the junction of Page Heath Lane and progress along the road over the four night period.

There will be temporary traffic signals in place (related to the works) at the junction of Page Heath Lane / Tylney Road / Page Heath Villas on the first night of the works.

Residents affected by the closure have been sent a letter with a contact number to use if they experience problems getting access to their homes.

Note - this is in addition to the emergency work currently being carried out by Thames Water causing disruption at either side of the railway bridge - work repairing that leak will have to be finished before the resurfacing work starts.

🚧 ROADBLOCKS FROM HELL! 🚧

Motorists are being warned of major disruption across Bromley as six roads are set to be affected by Network Rail bridge works from Tuesday, 26 August.

📍 Affected roads:
• Barfield Road, Bickley
• Chislehurst Road, Chislehurst
• Elmstead Lane, Chislehurst
• Lubbock Road, Chislehurst
• Mill Brook Road, St Mary Cray
• Upper Elmers End Road, Beckenham

Expect road closures, diversions, one-way systems and parking restrictions while the works are underway. The traffic order can remain in place for up to 18 months, although individual works are expected to be much shorter.

⚠️ If you use these routes regularly, plan ahead and allow extra time for your journey.
