83 miles, one goal – to cross the finish line 🚴

Overcoming a series of punctures and 30-degree temperatures, our Head of College Martin Bentham completed his Isle of Wight cycle challenge over the half term break.

Cycling 83 miles over two consecutive days, including 6,574ft of climbing, every mile covered helped raise funds in support of the college.

This weekend, Head of College Martin Bentham will be cycling round the Isle of Wight to raise funds in support of the college.

The challenge will see Martin cycle 83 miles over two consecutive days, riding from Yarmouth to Ryde and back and covering a coastal and inland route.

He said: 'I see the impact that specialist education has on the lives of young people every day - we build students' confidence and teach them adult independence skills that prepare them for their next steps.'

Funds raised will go towards a project or purchase that will make a difference to the lives of our students.

We're all wishing him the best of luck. If you would like to support, visit https://www.justgiving.com/page/martin-bentham-4?utm_medium=FA&utm_source=CL

Students cast their votes in mock election 🗳

As voters headed to the polls for the local elections, students at Shaftesbury Nash College had their say in a mock election.

Students visited our polling station, collecting their ballot papers, choosing which party to support, and casting their votes.

It was an opportunity for students to experience democracy in action, have their say and see how their choices can have an impact.

After polling closed, the votes were counted and verified with Labour the winning party, closely followed by the Greens.
