🚨 2-HOUR CPR COURSE 🚨

Could you help save a life in an emergency? ❤️

We’re encouraging members of our community to take part in a free 2-hour CPR course and learn vital lifesaving skills. In just a short amount of time, you can gain the confidence to act when it matters most.

✔️ Learn CPR basics
✔️ Understand how to respond in an emergency
✔️ Gain skills that could help save a loved one, friend, or stranger

No previous experience needed — everyone is welcome.
Small groups welcome .

Together, we can build a safer and more prepared community 🙌

Today for Day 6 of National Volunteer Week, we’re proud to introduce Gail.

We asked Gail how she balances Volunteering alongside her work as a GP Receptionist
Gail said, "My work as a GP Receptionist is part time , Thursday is one of my days off, so I’m lucky enough to volunteer at Signpost on Thursdays whenever I'm needed ! "

National Volunteer Week – Day 5

For Day 5 of National Volunteer Week, we’re celebrating Sue — our longest serving volunteer and Trustee.

Alongside her role with us, Sue also volunteers at the Bereavement Café, continuing to offer compassion and comfort to others in the community.

We asked Sue, Why did you decide to become a Volunteer

I became a volunteer because for many years I worked for the Post Office and I felt that I would be able to keep in touch with our community and hopefully give something back. I hope I've succeeded!

📢 Drop-In Information Session with an Admiral Nurse 📢

Admiral Nurses are specialist dementia nurses who provide life-changing support to families affected by dementia. They help carers and families prevent and manage complex challenges, offering expert guidance and practical support.

Louisa Hall will be available at Signpost to explain more about the Admiral Nurse service and how carers can access this valuable support.

There is no need to book – simply drop in and speak with Louisa to find out more.

National Volunteer Week – Meet Marilyn

Today we’re delighted to introduce Marilyn as part of our National Volunteer Week celebrations.

What first inspired you to start Volunteering, what led you to Signpost?
I volunteered with Citizens Advice within Signpost for a number of years and joined Signpost when I left Citizens Advice after 25 years. I had taken early retirement and moved to Broadway but felt that now I had time to volunteer alongside part - time work.

If someone is unsure about Volunteering, what would you tell them?
Try it out by shadowing existing volunteers to find out whether what we do in Signpost is for you

National Volunteer Week – A Shout Out to Beverley 💙

As part of National Volunteer Week, we'd like to give a special thank you to Beverley for the fantastic support she provides to our community.

Beverley is a volunteer adviser with Citizens Advice and generously hosts a session at Signpost on the first Thursday of every month, offering valuable advice and guidance to those who need it.

📅 First Thursday of every month
🕜 Appointments available from 1:30pm – 2:30pm
🚶 Drop-in session from 2:30pm – 3:30pm

Whether you need support with benefits, housing, debt, consumer issues, or other concerns, Beverley is there to help point you in the right direction.
