Please find attached the proposed deposit documents for Amendment 12 Waiting Restrictions Order Various Roads in the District of Thanet. This order will be on public deposit from 01/10/2026 until noon on 22/10/2026 and will be advertised in the Thanet Extra on Thursday, 01/10/2026. Public notices will be placed on site.

Representations supporting or objecting to the proposed Order can be made via email [email protected] or alternatively you can write to the Senior Parking & Policy Engineer at Thanet District Council, Cecil Street, Margate, Kent, CT9 1XZ by 12 noon Thursday 22/10/2026.

DOLPHIN CLOSE – DYL – On the western side of the road in a southerly direction from the junction of Marine Drive
for a distance of 10 metres and on the eastern side of the road in a southerly direction from the junction of Marine
Drive for a distance of 10 metres.
MARINE DRIVE – DYL – On the southern side of the road in an easterly direction from the junction of Dolphin Close
for a distance of 10 metres and on the southerly side of the road in a westerly direction for a distance of 10 metres.

Signs advising against bathing have been removed this morning (Friday 28 August) at beaches in Broadstairs, from Kingsgate to Dumpton Gap.

This was a precautionary measure following confirmation from Southern Water on Thursday 27 August that there had been an outfall release within the last 24 hours that may have affected water quality.

Additionally, signs advising against bathing at West Bay, Westgate-on-Sea and Fulsam Rock, Margate have also been removed. This follows advice from the Environment Agency that the Pollution Risk Forecast Warning issued yesterday has now been lifted.

The signs were put out as a precautionary measure, following a warning from the Environment Agency, after heavy rain.

Advice from TDC just issued.

Signs advising members of the public against bathing or entering the sea, are being put in place today, on six beaches from Kingsgate Bay to Dumpton Gap in Broadstairs.

This precautionary measure follows confirmation from Southern Water that there has been an outfall release within the last 24 hours that may have affected water quality. This occurred on Thursday 27 August, after heavy rain.

We hope to be in a position to lift the advice against bathing ahead of the weekend. This will depend on advice from the Environment Agency.

I have been on the phone to UK Power Networks several times today with regards to the road closure and poor signage. Unfortunately not very helpful. They have advised the road will open on Monday.

Message from PC ABSOLON regarding disturbances in Broadstairs yesterday

Hello Residents



The warm weather is here and being half term we have already seen large groups of youths in the town. On 09/04/26 due to ongoing ASB a Sec 34 Dispersal order was issued. Beat officer colleagues, Neighbourhood task force colleagues and I were in the town on the afternoon of 09/04/26. Whilst in the town a large group of youths were located in PIERREMONT PARK. We have used the dispersal powers on these youths, those who chose not to leave swiftly were provided dispersal paperwork, for two people. Whilst engaging with local youths a group from Canterbury has arrived, with several being dispersed as well, totalling 4 from this group. A further four local youths were dispersed after lingering in the town area. With an E-scooter seized from one also. This was all whilst a colleague and I were on pedal cycles in the town.



The summer will be busy, but I am hoping through early intervention with these groups, it will prevent more issues later this summer.
