Play Torbay Torbay’s leading provider of play activities, offering over 20,000 free opportunities every year.

The charity’s objects are:
(1) To enhance the development and education of children of Torbay through play
(2) To advance the education of the public regarding the importance of children’s play
We passionately believe that:
• All children should have the freedom, time, space, permission and opportunity to PLAY throughout their childhood and teenage years
• All residential neighbourhoods should be child-friendly places where children and young people can regularly play outside
• All disabled young people should be able to realise their aspirations and their right to be in an inclusive community that supports their play. Play Torbay supports a range of community work projects to help understand and address the issues that affect children, their families and their communities. We work in partnership with Friends groups, schools and community groups, social care, specialist services, including links with the police and specialist children and family intervention services, We work closely with the Local Authority and the Torbay Community Development Trust contributing to the strategic development of services at a local level. We raise funds to provide services for children and young people across the Bay FREE of charge.

Here are two fantastic training opportunities for those who work with children and young people.

There is a story telling workshop taking place on Wednesday at Paignton Library 1.30pm-4pm. Put together by Emberlense, Active Devon, Torbay on the Move and the Torbay Story. If you are working with young people and supporting them to be physically active, then this could be for you. It's all about sharing learning and uplifting your storytelling techniques. The next opportunity is to take part in the life champions course by Fight for Peace and endorsed by Sports England and UK coaching. A self-directed course that is for coaches, youth workers and volunteers supporting young people to be physically active up to the age of 25.
I have complimentary spaces for this course and have started to put together a list of people. Should this interest you then please email me directly and I can look and getting you enrolled. Looking to hold a life champions celebration event at the event of this year.

What a brilliant event by LocalMotion Torbay. Enabling people to support each other, especially, in troubled times, is a really lovely idea. 👏💗🥧

We're trying something new, and we'd love you to be part of it.
Seasonings are a new series of Local Motion events, and on 1 November we're holding a pilot to see what grows.

Through this gathering we're wondering: How do we support each other through uncertain times?

We'll gather at Parkfield House in Paignton to make, cook, listen and share stories and ideas. The evening ends with a potluck feast, with everyone offering what they can and nobody carrying the whole thing.

You don't need answers, or any particular skills. You could come for the whole afternoon or part of it, join in or simply sit and listen.

We'd love to have you however you'd like to be there.

Food to share is very welcome if you're able to bring some. If you can't, come anyway, we'll make sure there is plenty to go around. Please make contributions peanut-free, and consider noting the main ingredients, to support anyone with food allergies or special diets.

Well didn’t we have THE BEST day at the Riviera Connect event today?
Many, many thanks to all who made today happen and for making us their chosen charity. We met lots of people. Made new friends and connections. Learned a lot about exciting plans for the future of Torbay and, thanks to the extraordinary generosity of everyone there made almost £500 on the raffle which will be put to very good use. Thank you again, all at Riviera Connect.
