😡 Bullying is unacceptable for pupils and for education workers- something has to change!
💪 Amazing support from parents and the community, as well as support from South Glos NEU, and parents in other unions including the UCU and the NUJ.
🪧 Please join the picket line tomorrow from 7am on Coombe Rd, Easton, or take a solidarity photo in work today with your union colleagues to offer support.

✊🏼 Bristol NEU stood in solidarity with the Venezuelan people tonight at the Bristol rally with groups including Bristol Stop the War Coalition, Bristol Trades Union Council, Bristol Psc, Bristol UCU and the Venezuela Solidarity Campaign.

😡 The NEU condemns unequivocally the abduction and removal to the USA of Venezuelan President Maduro and his wife by the USA administration.

😡 This act of aggression, and the wave of military attacks - including the bombardment of Caracas which preceded it - constitute a blatant breach of international law.

✊🏼 We uphold the right of the Venezuelan people alone to determine their elected leaders and the future of their country.

✊🏼 Bristol NEU members joined the solidarity demo in Bristol today for the hunger strikers for Palestine! 🇵🇸
💪 The NEU fights for an education system that allows children and young people to safely question the world , fighting for what’s right and understanding the power of peaceful protest- yet this government criminalises protest; holds people without trial and allows for medical care to be withheld from hunger strikers!
😡 This is outrageous! We stand with Bristol Psc, Bristol Stop the War Coalition and those across the trade union movement condemning these actions.
We demand:
💪 Immediate release of the prisoners!
⛑️ Medical care to be instantly provided to all prisoners in critical conditions.
❌ End the attack on protesters and Palestine Action!
🇵🇸 Free, free Palestine! 🇵🇸

✊🏼 Great to join the start of the BMA resident doctors’ picket line at Callington Road today, bringing solidarity from Bristol NEU and Bristol Trades Union Council.
💪 The NEU is no stranger to having to fight for pay, jobs, a decent service and for full-funding for education- exactly the same issues facing healthcare and the NHS!
✊🏼 Health, education and all public services should unite to fight for services that support the public and all workers. This should include students, parents, communities, education workers, patients, nurses, doctors, all other health professionals and public sector workers : the workers united, will never be defeated! And when we know the government isn’t going to provide the funding or services without a fight, it’s on us to step up!
💪 Over the weekend, a snap poll of resident doctors had a 65% turnout with 83% turning down an offer of no new jobs- just basically shifting deckchairs on the Titanic! The strikes will continue was the resounding response!
✊🏼💪 When we fight, we can win, so solidarity with the fight for jobs and pay ✊🏼💪

✊🏼🇵🇸 Bristol NEU members today stood in solidarity with the 8 prisoners for Palestine currently on hunger strike, which began on 2 November.
😡 The media silence and lack of government response has been an absolute disgrace! Protest is not a crime! Standing in solidarity against injustice in the world is not a crime!
💪 We demand that the government MUST respond and the media needs to properly cover the strikers and the government’s negligence.
✊🏼As the hunger strikers reach a critical point in their health, we must stand with them.

✊🏼 Thanks to Reel News for the film of our dispute at Cathedral Schools Trust.
💪 We are pleased that after our 4 days of strikes, we have come to an agreement with the employer for a financial settlement that our members agree was enough to end further action.

✊🏼 After 4 days of strike action demanding the missing 5 months of cost-of-living payments, and ten more dates ready to go, Bristol NEU, North Somerset NEU and UNISON South West school support staff in Cathedral School Trust have agreed to a financial settlement to settle the dispute.
😊 100% of members responded within two hours to our communication about the settlement- clearly showing the strength of feeling!
