Troy and Josh have been working with some young people today and with the aim of some social action.

The Young People have baked some yummy cakes and any proceeds made will be going to Emersons Green Village Hall which is wonderful.

MEGA EXCITED MUCH! 😁💚

We started our first session in Pucklechurch last night and what a great start it was!

We engaged with 7 young people, as well as chatting with and meeting lots of people from the wider community.

What was originally meant to be a simple letter-drop exercise quickly turned into an awesome evening of engagement, conversations, promotion and getting ourselves out there! 😂

It was brilliant to start building those relationships and letting people know that CHOW is here and ready to get stuck in!

This is just the beginning, and we are really excited about what we can build together in Pucklechurch.

Amazing things are happening, everyone… WE ARE GROWING AGAIN! 😁💚

We will be kicking off new works as of the 1st week of October.

As always, our aim is simple: to create opportunities for young people and provide a safe, welcoming and fun space where they can simply be young people — chat, laugh, have fun, try new things and just be themselves.

And now we’re growing our reach even further! 🚐💚

We’ll be running sessions in Pucklechurch, Downend and Bromley Heath, bringing our mobile youth provision into even more communities.

This has been a long time in the making, and we are incredibly proud to be working alongside both Parish Councils to make some magic happen within the community. 🙌

We absolutely cannot wait to meet even more young people and families, build new relationships and see what we can create together.

And remember… you can’t miss us! 😂

Some of our young people from the CHOW youth sessions are holding a small bake sale as part of a community engagement project!

Come along to Emersons Green Village Hall on Wednesday 30th September, 3:30–4:30pm for some tasty treats, meet some of our young people, and find out more about our youth sessions. 🙌

💰 Any cash donations are welcome, with all money raised going towards our local community space, The Village Hall!

🚗 Really happy to announce the start of our collaborative Wheels Project with Mangotsfield School! 🔧

So, what is the Wheels Project?

It’s a project where young people get the opportunity to learn the basics of car maintenance, develop practical skills and learn at their own pace.

We’ve had our first two lessons, working with Shea and two groups of Year 10 and Year 11 students, and the introduction sessions have been awesome! 🙌

Even if our young people don’t go on to have a career in mechanics or anything similar, learning these basic skills can ultimately save money and time in the long run, whilst giving them practical skills for life.

We were also very lucky to receive a vehicle for the project, and we’d like to say a massive thank you to the family who donated it to the school. Without support like this, projects like the Wheels Project simply wouldn’t be possible. ❤️

We’re really looking forward to seeing where this project goes and, most importantly, giving young people the opportunity to get stuck in, have a go and learn something new.

Well, there’s us thinking we might get a little break after everything kicking off following the summer holidays… 🤣

But nope! We’re straight back into it! 😆

Our sessions are running as normal because, as you all know, we never stop! We genuinely believe that good youth provision shouldn’t just stop because the school holidays are over — unless it’s Christmas! 🤣

This week has been busy, a little crazy, but ultimately absolutely awesome! 🙌

Many of our Year 6 young people have now taken that big step into Year 7, and we are incredibly proud of them as they enter such a different and exciting time in their lives.

Something we really value is making sure we talk with our younger groups about any worries, concerns or challenges they may have around moving up to secondary school. That transition can feel like a huge change, so having the opportunity to chat, ask questions and share those worries can make a real difference.

It’s all about supporting our young people, helping them feel confident and reminding them that they don’t have to navigate these changes alone.
