Sustainability isn't just good for the planet, it’s a powerful driver for your business. 📈
Leaders who move beyond "ambition" to "action" see the results where they matter most: brand reputation, customer loyalty, and a sharper competitive edge.
Not sure where to start? We’ve broken down 5 key strategies to help you accelerate your climate journey, from engaging your team to communicating impact confidently.
When our team recently visited the Manoa project, deep in the Amazon, nothing could have prepared them for what they saw outside the project boundary. The degradation is stark. But step inside, and the contrast is immediate.
This patch of the Amazon is being actively protected. The forest is healthy. The carbon finance that is flowing into this project does far more than just keeping trees standing - it's directly funding schools for hundreds of local students, improving education and changing lives for the next generation.
This is what high-quality carbon credits look like in practice. This is the positive, demonstrable, life-changing difference they can make. Not just numbers on certificates, but vital forests protected, communities supported, and children who'll be educated because of it.
When your business measures and reduces its emissions, and pairs that with funding verified projects like this, it contributes to climate action that goes far beyond the spreadsheet, and in doing so, improves the prospects of both our planet's ecosystems, and the people who depend on them.

For an allegedly unlucky day, we certainly don’t seem to be short of good fortune to report on in this week's ‘Friday the 13th’ installment of Good News!
Effortlessly eschewing the superstitious stereotype today - not one, but two ‘extinct’ species of marsupial turn up in Papua New Guinea, giant tortoises make an epic comeback to one of the Galápagos Islands, and British beavers diversify their operations into *checks notes* uh, biodiversity finance 😅🦫
• Giant tortoises return to Galápagos island after 175 years
• Two "Lazarus" marsupials found alive in Papua after 6,000 years
• Industrious beavers in Lincolnshire create world-first biodiversity credits
• UK's first geothermal power plant goes live in Cornwall
• Solar energy to help power the London Underground
Was all this talk of cute animal comebacks, geothermal energy, and solar power suitably heartwarming? Let us know by beavering away in the comments below, and check out more stories of this nature on our blog timeline: https://hubs.la/Q046pmLy0

🌍 Happy !
Thinking about joining the movement of businesses acting as a force for good? The journey to certification starts with one crucial step: understanding your impact.
Measuring your carbon footprint is the essential foundation, and we’ve created the roadmap to get you there. Our article explains how to calculate your business emissions to meet B Corp’s rigorous standards. 📉✨
The Amazon is home to 10% of all known species. Since the 1970s, 20% has been lost to agriculture. Of what remains, 40% is degraded. Every three days, an area the size of Bristol disappears.
Your business depends on nature. We all do. From the air we breathe to the materials you use, ecosystems like the Amazon underpin everything.
While reducing and reporting emissions are critical, protecting and restoring nature is what makes your climate strategy complete. The Manoa project is living proof of it: verified forest protection that keeps the Amazon standing, protects biodiversity, and supports local communities with education and livelihoods.
This is how businesses accelerate real climate action - with science-backed solutions that deliver ecological and social impact.
Four more major stories from the last fortnight that every business and their sustainability teams should know about:
- The UK released final sustainability reporting standards. Listed companies could face mandatory disclosure from January 2027, pending FCA consultation (closing 20th March).
- Last month, over 250 signatories re-launched the voluntary Net Zero Asset Managers initiative, designed to support investing in line with the global goal of net zero greenhouse gas emissions, albeit with a previous commitment to reach net zero by 2050 removed and several major players exiting the group.
- The UN approved its first Paris Agreement carbon credits on 26 February - a Myanmar cookstove project. The Article 6.4 market is now operational, with over 165 projects transitioning and stricter integrity rules in place.
- Analysis published by the REA shows that renewables are on track to be cheaper than gas by 2028–29, even when factoring in grid upgrades, storage, and balancing costs. This pathway is estimated to create 145,000 UK jobs.
For One World planting a tree with every Shopify sale is driving positive customer reviews.
The design-led interiors brand plants a tree for every order through Ecologi, turning every purchase into a contribution to global reforestation. Sustainability is woven into the brand’s design philosophy too, with characterful collections that include pieces crafted from reclaimed wood.
Rather than simply adding a sustainability badge, the goal was to integrate meaningful climate action into the purchasing experience - reinforcing brand values while meeting the expectations of today’s design-conscious consumers.
And it’s resonating. Customers are referencing the tree-planting promise directly in reviews, showing how visible climate action can build trust and confidence at the point of purchase.
Since partnering with Ecologi in 2022, One World has planted 47,511 trees 🌱.

We created Ecologi so people like you can actually take on the climate crisis
Ecologi was founded by three Bristolians: Elliot Coad, Alex Price, and Lucy Jack. After researching ways to do more, Elliot stumbled across carbon offsetting and planting trees cheaply, and the Offset Earth project was born.
Our platform enables everyone to offset their carbon footprint for less than a coffee and croissant every month. We built this to ensure everyone has the opportunity to participate and make a difference to the climate emergency in just a few clicks.
Tree planting
It’s now common knowledge that one of the best tools to tackle the climate crisis and keep our temperatures from rising above 1.5C is to plant trees. They are also crucial to preventing ecological collapse.
Out tree planting partner The Eden Reforestation Project plant millions of trees around the world each month. We are currently supporting their incredible work in Madagascar.
Carbon Offsetting
At Ecologi we invest your money into projects that remove more greenhouse gasses than your own carbon footprint puts in.
Each month we pick the best CO2 reduction projects with Gold Standard certification, so you can trust your money is going to the highest rated projects and making the most impact possible.
Where does your money go?
Our profit is measured in impact, and this is reflected in how we spend your money. Almost 90% of your money goes directly to funding these planet saving projects. With the rest we use it to attract more people to the join the cause, and cover a few fees (such as credit card transactions).
We’re not taking any of your money to pay the staff. We’ll be able to sustain ourselves through working closely with businesses who can use Offset Earth as a platform to make their own impact through us.
We’re amassing a collective of passionate and talented humans in all corners of the world to build a platform for great climate action. If you feel you can help in any way in terms of putting this in-front of a new audience, feedback, working with businesses, or funding – then it’d be great to chat.
