If you're worried about rising bills, join us on Saturday 13th for our Home Energy Fair (Emersons Green Village Hall, 2-4:30pm) and speak to Retrofit West about starting your energy efficiency journey: https://elcoe-home-energy-fair.eventbrite.co.uk
The energy price cap is going up again on the 1st of July.
A lot of that comes down to the price of gas, which is set on global markets and moves for reasons none of us can do much about.
If your home runs mostly on gas and grid electricity, that gets felt fairly directly. The upside is there is plenty you can do to depend on it less.
A better insulated home needs less energy to keep warm. Solar panels let you make some of your own, a battery stores it for later, and a heat pump moves your heating off gas.
It does not have to happen all at once. Each step puts a bit more of your energy in your own hands, which is a steadier place to be whatever the gas price does next.
If you would like a hand working out where to start, free advice is there for homeowners across Bristol, B&NES and South Gloucestershire.
