What a fantastic evening we shared last night! 🎶

Although it was certainly a warm one in the rehearsal room, the atmosphere was even warmer as we enjoyed a wonderful evening of music and fellowship.

We were privileged to welcome JonathanJonathan Evans, who led the band throughout the rehearsal with great skill, encouragement and inspiration. It was a real blessing to learn from his experience and musical leadership.

It was also lovely to welcome a number of visitors who joined us, both to play alongside the band and to listen. Thank you to everyone who came and contributed to such a special evening.

As we continue our preparations for our 140th Anniversary celebrations, we thank God for His faithfulness over the years and for opportunities like this to share in music, friendship and worship together.

Tonight’s extra monthly rehearsal turned into a historic one! 🎉

To our surprise, we recently discovered the band is actually 10 years older than we first thought — and this rehearsal fell exactly on our 140th birthday!
We marked the occasion with a special rehearsal joined by over 30 guests, including friends who picked up their instruments and played alongside us. It was a real joy to welcome four former bandmasters back as part of the celebration.

After making music together, we shared a wonderful time of fellowship (with birthday cake, of course! 🍰).
As we reflected on 140 years, we were reminded that in everything we do, God goes before us — and it is always for His glory.
140 years of music, fellowship and faithful service. To God be the glory. 🙏🎺

The band met once again for rehearsal this evening as we continue preparing for our upcoming 130th Anniversary Celebration Weekend. We are so grateful to God for the opportunity to make music that brings praise and glory to His name.
We spent time exploring some exciting new pieces, including Marcus Venables’ Holy Forever and Ty Watson’s Trust — music that reminds us of God’s faithfulness and unchanging love.
On Sunday, it was also a real joy to welcome Martyn Wallis to the band, playing alongside his two sons — what a wonderful picture of family and fellowship. Welcome, Martyn!

Join us on Thursday 12th February at 8pm to celebrate 130th years of SHB on our actual Birthday! - https://fb.me/e/3ZgqEtprx

We are so thankful for gods blessings over the last 130 years. Last sunday we featured a new piece of music to us 'Holy Spirit, Dwell in Me'. as we step into the next 130 years we think of these words from the last verse of the song associated with the piece.
'Generate new faith in me,
I would live triumphantly
Let me live as
thou has planned,
Willingly at
thy command.'
