π Your Second Hand Uniform Shop Needs You - and a Huge Thank You to Sophie! π
Weβre resharing Sophieβs message below - but before you read it, we wanted to take a moment to recognise the incredible impact she has made through the Second Hand Uniform Shop.
Since taking this on, Sophie (with support from a small but valued team) has transformed what the uniform shop offers to our school community. Thanks to her dedication:
π Families have access to affordable school uniform.
π Huge amounts of clothing have been saved from landfill and given a second life.
𧡠Purple tops have been repaired and reused through her mending efforts.
π« The shop has become a valuable and growing source of income for the school: income has risen from Β£732 (2022/23), to Β£1,582 (2023/24), to an incredible Β£3,338 (2024/25).
On top of this, Sophie has gone above and beyond by regularly sorting through mountains of lost property - reuniting named items with their owners, preparing uniform for resale, and ensuring anything else usable is donated rather than wasted. Itβs been a huge, often unseen effort that has made a real difference.
As Sophieβs daughter moves on to secondary school this summer, we now need a team of volunteers to help continue this brilliant work.
π This doesnβt need to be one person doing everything (many hands make light work).
π Roles could include: holding jumper stock, helping with sales, responding to enquiries, sorting lost property, or supporting pop-up sales.
If we want to keep:
β affordable uniform available
β waste reduced
β funds coming into the school
β¦ then we really do need people to step forward.

Thank you π
