Bake a Difference Sussex

Bake a Difference Sussex We’re volunteer bakers making home-baked treats for food banks and community groups across Brighton and Hove.

Volunteers bake as often as they can (weekly, fortnightly, monthly, or ad hoc) and drop the bakes to one of our citywide hubs for distribution.

Looking back at some of the wonderful bakes from March for Bake a Difference 💛

Our Hollingbury/Patcham hub received such an amazing variety from our brilliant volunteer bakers — including ginger cake, oat & cherry scones, carrot cake muffins, banana cakes, and lemon & blueberry cake.

And featured in the photo are the ever-popular Paris Buns ✨ Soft, lightly spiced and filled with dried fruit, these traditional sweet buns are finished with a delicate glaze — a nostalgic favourite that always goes down a treat.

A huge thank you to everyone who bakes, donates, and supports. You really are making a difference in our local community, one bake at a time 🧁

Love has been in the air all week 💕

Our wonderful volunteers have been busy spreading kindness across Brighton & Hove — delivering their usual abundance of homemade baked goodies to local food banks and community groups. There’s something very special about sharing food made with care ❤️

On Valentine’s Day, we’re shining a spotlight on these beautiful Valentine’s Linzer cookies made by our brilliant baker Emma 👩‍🍳✨

Using a favourite recipe by Cate Dixon from BBC Good Food, these treats are made with ground almonds and warming spices, with soft, jammy centres that are simply irresistible 🍓💘 And those little heart-shaped windows? Just perfect for the occasion!

A huge thank you to all our volunteers who continue to bake, pack and deliver with such generosity each week. You truly make a difference 💗
