Our Sansar is a UK charity providing education, shelter and welfare to the most disadvantaged girls and boys in Nepal for whom little or no help is forthcoming. Our work is focused on Province 2 where there are no other organisations providing the same type of assistance to street children or other children needing emergency support. We were established in 2009 to help the hundreds of children, pr

imarily boys aged between 3 and 16, who live on the street in the regions of Nepal bordering India, after being abandoned due to poverty and abuse. We have now expanded our operations to also assist more children who have experienced neglect, abuse, child labour and girls who have been victims of trafficking, r**e, violence and other trauma. Our main current projects include:

- Children's Home in Parwanipur
- Child Helpline and Outreach Programme in Birgunj
- Children's Protection Programme in Janakpur (Safe House for Girls run in collaboration with Pipal Tree)
- End to Child Labour Project in Rautahat

Children in our End to Child Labour project celebrated Teacher’s Day in the most heartfelt way - by creating beautiful handmade greeting cards for their teachers.

Each card was a small work of art, filled with colour, care, and gratitude. For many of our students, school is not just a place of learning; it is a space of safety, encouragement, and new beginnings. Their cards were a touching reminder of how deeply they value the adults who guide, support, and believe in them every day.

𝐒𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐩𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐢𝐠 𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐬 ✈️

Our children took a “flight of happiness” with aeroplanes crafted and painted by their own hands. Every weekend here is filled with extracurricular activities that spark creativity, confidence, and joy.

This activity was extra special: the children designed aeroplane models painted in the colours of Nepal’s national flag. Their excitement, teamwork, and imagination remind us why safe spaces and playful learning matter so much.

🌟 Congratulations to Sangeeta on taking the first step toward achieving her dream of becoming a teacher!

Sangeeta has been part of the Our Sansar family since the very beginning. From a young age, she had one clear ambition—to become a teacher. Today, we are proud to see her begin her teaching journey at The Achievers Academy while continuing her first year of B.Ed. studies.

Sangeeta also participated in our Career training, and it is inspiring to see her putting the knowledge and confidence she gained into practice as she builds her future.

We are incredibly proud of her dedication, hard work, and determination. Wishing you every success on this exciting new journey, Sangeeta! 💙📚✨

🌧️ Preparing for the monsoon season ☔

As the monsoon rains arrive in Nepal, bright umbrellas were distributed to the children.

These umbrellas do more than shield them from heavy rain — they also protect them from the harsh sun. They symbolise care, safety, and the belief that every child deserves to walk to school with confidence, not to hazardous work.

💛 Thank you for helping us keep them safe, dry, shaded, and full of hope this monsoon.

Similarly to what a lot of our girls are experiencing, at just 14, Sushilata from Achham, Nepal, stood up against a deeply rooted tradition that expected her to marry her late sister’s husband. Alone against her family and community, she refused a child marriage that had already been planned without her consent.

What followed is extraordinary. With support from friends, teachers and a local life skills programme, she found the courage to speak publicly about the pressure she faced. Her determination didn’t just stop the wedding — it transformed her into a leader.

Today, Sushilata chairs the child network in her rural municipality, mobilising other young people to prevent child marriage and protect girls’ rights. The same community that once prepared her wedding now listens to her as a child rights advocate.

Sushilata Nepali, a teenager from Achham district, resisted her family, her community and an entrenched tradition to stop her own child marriage. Now she leads the campaign to ensure no other child faces the same fate.

Parents’ meetings continue to be an essential part of efforts to support the holistic development of children.

With the parents, we discussed the importance of ensuring the regular attendance of children who had been absent from school and coaching classes. The session also emphasized the significance of health and hygiene practices, reviewed the children’s learning progress and academic achievements, and highlighted the vital role parents play in nurturing their children's education, well-being, and future aspirations.

These monthly gatherings serve as a valuable platform to keep parents informed about their children’s educational journey while also introducing new and relevant topics that impact family and community life. Discussions often extend to important issues such as child labour prevention, child marriage awareness, and vocational training opportunities for parents, empowering families to create a supportive environment for their children’s growth.

🌱 Montessori training sessions that build early skills!

In our Montessori sessions, we support teachers in enabling children to learn through hands‑on, sensory‑based activities that strengthen essential early‑learning skills.

Through colour exploration such as blue‑colour crafting, children will learn to recognise and differentiate colours while developing fine motor coordination.

With the Pink Tower, they can practise arranging the pink cubes from largest to smallest, an exercise that enhances concentration, sequencing, and spatial awareness.
--------------------------------------------------------
Our End Child Labour project ensures these children are removed from hazardous work and safely reintegrated into education — where they belong. Through community outreach, family support, and school‑based interventions, we help children reclaim their right to learn, grow, and thrive.

A milestone reached ✨

The tailoring trainees have successfully completed sewing the school uniforms for the children from Dumariya and Dayalpur villages. 👕✂️

What began with taking measurements has now come full circle — transforming training into meaningful impact.

A proud moment for everyone involved and a beautiful example of learning creating lasting change. 💙

➡ The next stage is approaching: launching t‑shirt production and taking commercial orders to help families become economically independent.
