We’re celebrating some very special news.

Our founders, Sali Hughes and Jo Jones, have been awarded MBEs in The King’s Birthday Honours List for services to charity and tackling hygiene poverty.

We’re incredibly proud of them both.

Beauty Banks began in 2018 with a simple belief: that nobody should have to choose between eating and staying clean. Since then, Sali and Jo have dedicated countless hours to raising awareness of hygiene poverty, building partnerships, securing donations and helping Beauty Banks grow into a charity that supports over 2,000 organisations across the UK.

They have done all of this voluntarily, alongside their own careers and commitments.

Of course, Beauty Banks would not exist without the support of our corporate partners, volunteers, supporters and frontline organisations. We are grateful to every single person and organisation that has helped us get to this point.

Today, though, we’re taking a moment to celebrate Sali and Jo, and to congratulate them on an honour that is so richly deserved. ❤️

The Heist is full of wonderful things. Generous donations. Amazing auction lots and eighty raffle prizes.

But this is why we’re doing it.

Every day people arrive at refuges, shelters and charities having lost almost everything.

The money raised through The Heist helps us make sure they don’t have to face that situation without the basic essentials most of us take for granted.

If you are as horrified as we are at the child poverty stats in the UK, please help by donating £10 to our STAY FRESH campaign this summer.

Our wonderful volunteers are busy sending out Stay Fresh packs - 525 have been purchased so far - giving a schoolchild everything they need to get them through the summer holidays. We aim to get to £20,000 which will impact 2000 children and ensure they can enjoy activities free from the stigma of poor hygiene.

We are absolutely thrilled to announce our wonderful partnership with Elemis who are powering our beautiful electric van, enabling all of our London deliveries to be dropped off emissions-free!

Elemis has become an official partner of Beauty Banks, and over the next year, they'll be generating an electric van to help get the products around the country and reach up to 40% more charities in London.

The Tooth Hurts.

No-one's smile should be shaped by poverty.

This week at Beauty Banks we launched our dental awareness & fundraising campaign in collaboration with the British Dental Association (BDA) highlighting our joint research into the scale of the oral hygiene crisis in classrooms across the UK.

Some of our shocking findings from the survey:

A third of teachers have witnessed bullying related to a student's poor oral hygiene.

83% of teachers have given out toothpaste or toothbrushes that they themselves have purchased.

Tooth decay is the most common reason for hospitalisation in childhood, reaching epidemic levels.

Help Beauty Banks to tackle this crisis by providing much needed dental care products to organisations right across the UK.
