Not long now until 1st Southwick Scout's Bingo Night, so warm up those dabbers and get the date in your diary!

Back by popular demand, is 1st Southwick Scout Group's Bingo Event. There last event was an absolute hit and the building was packed, making an incredible amount of money to support vital work they undertake in our community.

This time around they are raising fund for their Christmas Camp, and replacing the Defibrillator, here at the Centre.

So why not dig out those dabbers and come along and enjoy what is always a great night. Tickets can be purchased on the door.

Sussex Voiceworks, an inclusive and welcoming community choir based in Shoreham-by-Sea.

On Saturday 17 October 2026, they’re holding a Come & Sing workshop for John Rutter’s Requiem at Southwick Methodist Church.

Registration: 1.30pm
Workshop: 2.00–6.00pm
Informal performance: 6.00–6.30pm
Tickets: £15 adults / £5 students

The afternoon will be led by their Musical Director and accompanist, with free refreshments during the breaks. Family and friends are warmly invited to the informal performance at the end of the afternoon.

Why not give it a try, you don't have to be fantastic or even experienced to take part!

This has been a hard slog for the Adur East Lions Club and their volunteers. They've dug them all out, and now is the enjoyable bit - planting them up!

If you have a green thumb, or just want to be part of taking in pride in our area, then why not come along and help out. Refreshments will be served in the Community Centre to reward all the hard graft.

Funding round is now open, so if you are working with/ supporting young people or have a project that supports climate resilience then get your apps in!

Applications for our Connected Communities grant fund are now open.

The fund covers one-off project costs between £1,000 and £5,000, with a total of just over £121,000 available for Adur and Worthing-based voluntary, community and social enterprise groups to bid for.

It’s made up from combining four of our previous grants and is designed to make applications simpler and less time-consuming.

Groups can use the fund to support a wide range of projects that benefit communities across Adur and Worthing, and we’re particularly interested in receiving applications that:

🚸 support children and young people
🌳 enhance climate resilience
📌 focus on local need
📈 show evidence of lasting impact on the community or environment

You can find out more about the fund, discuss your projects with us ahead of putting in an application, and build connections with other groups at one of our in-person networking events this month:

🔹Wednesday 16th September from 10 - 11.30am at Lancing Parish Hall
🔹Thursday 24th September from 6 - 7.30pm at Field Place (Chichester Room)

Applications close on Sunday 25th October.

Whether you love a bargain or need to find a new home for items you don't use any more, why not pop along to Adur Rec, this Saturday to support Adur East Lions Club.

Adur East Lions Club use the funds they raise to deliver projects and activities. Over the last year, they have worked tirelessly to clear out all 19 of the very large planters in Fishersgate and have done a fab job!

Your support means they can do even more work to support our local place. So if you can then please show them some support
