Don't forgot this Saturday is BINGO Night. Please come along and support not 1 but 2 local charities and have loads of fun whilst your add it.

So dust off those dabbers and get down to the Community Centre.

It seems like a lifetime ago that you could hear the words "eyes down" echoing in the main room at the centre.

BUT back by popular demand, is BINGO Night.....so why not dust off those dabbers and form an orderly queue down at the centre! With loads of FUN to be had, prizes to be won, whilst supporting not one fantastic local charity, but two! Southwick Marching Band & 1st Southwick Scout Group.

What's not to like???

Date for your diaries ALERT

If you're an Adur Homes Tenant and want to ask a question or have a query then the next round of Resident Drop Ins could be the place to do it. The closest one to Fishersgate this time around is at Southwick Community Centre, and the team will be there on Tuesday 12th May from 2-3.30pm. Why not pop in and see them.

Tomorrow is the next session of Planter Pioneers. If you're green fingered or just want to get out and meet new people (and have a cuppa/ cake for your efforts) then why not join in!

The group meet in the car park at the centre from 10.30am.

Have a green finger, or just want to improve the area? Then why not lend a hand helping to transform the planters into colourful and vibrant addition to our place.

The planter pioneers will be back tomorrow at 10.30am to continue their work with local volunteers.

A big cuppa and a slice of cake will be an additional reward after the session at the centre.

And we're off! Building works have now commenced, following the our successful bid to the Government's Youth Investment Fund (YIF).

First on the list is improving access to the centre, with a path from the car park direct to the building the priority for this week.

Works are expected to last until mid July. We'll be posting here to keep you up to date on developments.

We're so excited to FINALLY see this much needed investment in our community come to life.

We had a CRACKING time yesterday at our Easter Event. 60 children and their families joined in our Easter Egg Hunt, solving the clues and choosing an egg when they had finished.

Here are a few pics from the craft session, there were so many great hats and crowns on parade. Thanks also to Kiddie Capers Childcare who hosted one of the crafty tables.

T-Shirt Printing delivered by Figment Arts was also really popular, with some fantastic designs coming out and lovely feedback.

Thanks as always go to our volunteers, who we would be lost without, and allows us to host these events.

There is a jam packed offer in Fishersgate this Easter for children to get involved in.

We still have tickets available for The Easter Egg Hunt & Games, plus craft, so get booking if you are interested, to save disappointment. We might have a few spare spaces on the day, and we'll drop a message on here to let you know.

The Figment Arts sessions have gone down a treat and are unfortunately now fully booked! But keep a look out in May Half Term as they will be back then with their holiday sessions.

FINALLY, we can share the AMAZING NEWS!

We've been successful in our bid to the Government's Youth Investment Fund. Bringing back into use the space (formerly the roller rink) to provide additional rooms and space for children & young peoples activities/ services.

Teamed with investment from Adur District Council, we will see the centre and the space around it transformed, for our community.

Work should start in the next month, and we'll be regularly updating you and providing pics, as it progresses.

Eastbrook Manor Community Centre is set to be transformed for the community, after we secured funding to improve youth services there.

We have been awarded over £840,000 from the government’s Youth Investment Fund and will further invest over £430,000 to increase capacity by removing the dilapidated external buildings and disused roller-skating skate rink and replacing them with two new modular buildings.

A new green space will be created for the community by moving the perimeter fencing. There will also be new paving, car park improvements and accessible paths to the north and south of the building.

The centre is a well-used hub in the heart of Fishersgate and provides classes, workshops, support services, educational activities, community events, creative arts and social opportunities in an area scarce of community facilities.

The improvements will bring disused space back into use for the community and provide more opportunity to deliver new activities for young people.

Once the building work is finished, the centre will be run by Community People after we decided the charity was the best group for the project.

The charity aims to connect people and communities and worked with us last October to understand what improvements local residents would like to see at the community centre.

Work will begin in the next month and is projected to be complete by September 2026. There will be some minimal disruption while work takes place, but the community centre will remain open.
