Dacre Hall

Dacre Hall The Dacre Hall is believed to the oldest village hall in the country and can be booked for weddings, parties, meetings, craft fairs and other events.

Lanercost by the Earl and Lady of Carlisle in 1952. The hall has undergone major refurbishment in the last ten years, making it a beautiful place to hold a large family event. The hall boasts some beautiful features, such as open beamed roof, dimmable lighting and carefully restored pieces of wall paintings, which are one of very few still in existence today from that period. We have recently take

n back our Tudor Chimney Mantle from the Bowes museum, which now is safely back in our hall, looking very much at home and is on view whenever the English Heritage site at Lanercost is open to visitors, unless the hall has been booked for a private event.
