Earlier this month a group of Bridge College Together Trust students paid a visit to Z Arts in Hulme to take part in a community project.

To start, they had a tour of the theatre spaces, activity rooms and the wonderful Alice in Wonderland experience. Together with the team at Z-arts, they helped plan ideas for the upcoming Access Day event.

The event provides an accessible and sensory-friendly environment to people with special needs, including workshops in storytelling, music, and art.

The day is open and free for all, and they have a dedicated team of friendly and inclusive facilitators and staff. Head over to Z-arts (335 Stretford Road, Hulme) on Saturday 6 June, 3pm-5pm for the event.

Running the London Marathon is a bucket list item for a lot of people - but what most don't see is the months of hard work that goes behind the big day.

And that doesn't even include all time time spent on running practice.

Meet Matt, who took on the London Marathon this April in support of our charity! πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸ’™

Matt has been raising funds for Pearce Lodge, a cause close to his heart, because his partner Shana works there supporting adults with complex disabilities.

Luckily, he hasn’t been alone on his journey. The amazing team at Pearce Lodge, led by the wonderful Shana, have been right behind him every step of the way. Over the past year, colleagues have come together to support his efforts through staff competitions, car boot sales, and a range of creative fundraisers.

Thank you, Matt, for your determination and dedication, and thank you to Shana and everyone at Pearce Lodge for your ongoing support.

You’ve all played a part in something truly special πŸ‘

Has this inspired you to take on the London Marathon? Now you can!

We are looking for keen runners to join us for next year - we have charity places up for grabs!

Struggling to sleep in the heat? With the forecast over the next few days, we thought we'd share some of our favourite tips πŸ₯΅β˜€οΈ

Falling into a deep sleep is associated with cooler body temperatures and being too hot can affect your ability to fall and stay asleep. Regulating and managing your body temperature is an important part of sleep hygiene.

Here are ten top tips to help you keep cool of a night time. There are lots of others too. What works for you? Add them to the comments!

πŸ›οΈ 100% cotton fabrics, bamboo or products containing TENCEL are good choices for bedding
❄️ You can get cooling mattresses, pillows and cooling gel toppers. Some people find it helpful to put pillow cases in the freezer before bed!
πŸ‘• Wear natural fabrics to sleep in. Moisture wicking gym gear can also help keep you cool if traditional nightwear doesn’t.
πŸͺŸ Keep blinds and curtains shut during the day and fans on at night. In the UK, leaving a fan on all night will cost you around 33p per night.
πŸ₯— Avoid eating heavy meals, especially spicy ones, too late at night. These cause a rise in core body temperature.
🚿 Take a warm shower or bath. These can cause a drop in body temperature which is conducive to sleep. Avoid cold showers as these can be too stimulating.
πŸ‹πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ Avoid exercise too close to bedtime - it will push your core body temperature up.
πŸ’§ Try a cold or lukewarm water bottle at the end of your bed, near your feet.
🧊 Cool pulse points with cool packs - ankles, wrists, backs of knees, elbow creases.
πŸƒ Before you sleep, moisten your skin with a flannel or a gel like Aloe Vera. This can feel even cooler combined with a fan.

EARLY BIRD tickets are still available for another 10 days!

Until next Sunday, 31st May you get 10% off and an automatic entry to our Ninja Air Fryer raffle (kindly donated by the team at High Peak Comps) when you buy your tickets online.

So proud to announce that Inscape House School students have been involved in the Beacon Programme ran by GRAHAM Group - a unique work experience programme for neurodivergent young people.

Huge well done to our amazing students Myles, Raith and Emerson for taking part!

Marie Young, Careers Lead at Inscape House School, says "This was an incredibly powerful opportunity for our pupils, a combination of activities that you would never put together but it worked wonderfully! Our pupils learnt about the construction industry, apprenticeships, how to write lyrics, perform and work in a recording studio, this is the start of a very promising and positive partnership"

The Manchester Beacon Programme brings together GRAHAM Group, Greater Manchester Combined Authority and delivery partners Konnect Radio and Message Trust, creating a multi-layered experience that combines construction industry insight with creativity and self-expression.

This video showcases the highlights from GRAHAM's Beacon Programme delivered in Manchester, which a targeted employability initiative designed to support neu...
