Steeple Bumpstead Community First Responder Group Z7052 - was EZ25 Steeple Bumpstead Community First Responders are volunteers who are trained by the Ambulance Service to respond locally to life threatening 999 calls

Steeple Bumpstead Community First Responders are made up of NHS Volunteers who are trained in emergency life support. We try and provide 24/7 cover and alongside the Ambulance Service, we attend life threatening 999 calls in Steeple Bumpstead and the surrounding villages. Due the rural location of the village, we will usually arrive before the Ambulance. We can also offer CPR, Defibrillator, Basic

Life Support and First Aid Training. In the past 12 months we have provided lessons to over 100 children in the village. For more information on training opportunities please contact Richard Clarson ([email protected])
If you think you could help us by joining the group, fundraising or sponsoring equipment the please contact the Team Leader Chris Hughes.

Haverhill & Steeple Bumpstead First Responders Steve, Brad, Emma, Robin and myself Carole, were pleased to present CPR and Defib training at Sturmer village hall. Arranged by Terrie who looks after their public access defib.

Great acting skills by Steve and Brad when demonstrating what to expect to do as a bystander if you came across someone in cardiac arrest. One to one practice then offered amongst those attending.

Wonderful to see local residents ‘having a go’ themselves on the resus annies. Also, it was reassuring to some of those who attended to witness the public access defib being opened and what was inside. This is a specially monitored cabinet the sends Terrie a message as soon as it is opened.

Thank you also those of you who have donated to help keep our funding going for providing equipment for these Free training sessions we give. We are all unpaid volunteers so rely on grants and donations to fund our training equipment purchases.

🚨New Steeple Bumpstead Responder 🚨

Please join us in congratulating Stephen on completing his First Responder Training. Now qualified, he will join our regular rota providing essential cover in and around Steeple Bumpstead.

✨”Both my partner and best friend are Paramedics and they inspired me to become a CFR. I might even pursue a career in the ambulance service in the future.

The whole process from applying to completing my training was very smooth. The course was excellent and covered a huge amount - I now want to put it into practice for the benefit of the local community. I am also looking forward to being part of the CFR team in Steeple Bumpstead and learning from the other volunteers.”✨

Welcome to the team!
