Thursday's Outreach & Drop-In at Fountains Church – Bradford

Another encouraging day spent serving our community in Bradford.

Throughout the day, we were out on the streets meeting people where they are, taking time to listen, build relationships, and offer practical and emotional support to those facing homelessness, addiction, loneliness, and other life challenges. Sometimes the biggest difference starts with a simple conversation, letting someone know they are seen, valued, and not alone.

Following our outreach, we gathered at Fountains Church for our weekly drop-in. The doors were open to anyone who needed a warm space, a hot meal, a drink, support, or simply someone to talk to. It was wonderful to see people connecting, sharing their stories, and finding encouragement amongst one another.

We are grateful to work alongside Fountains Church and many other organisations across Bradford. By working together, we can provide greater support, create stronger pathways into services, and help people take positive steps towards recovery, housing, community, and hope.

The day finished with a Bible study where people felt comfortable enough to ask questions, share openly, and explore faith in a safe and welcoming environment. These moments of honesty and connection are often where real transformation begins.

Thank you to everyone who gives their time, resources, prayers, and support. Every conversation matters, every act of kindness counts, and together we can continue to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most.

Today we were out on the streets of Bradford, reaching out to people facing homelessness, addiction, isolation, and those simply struggling with life. Every conversation matters, and today we saw again how important it is to stand together and support those who feel forgotten.

Today we were able to make a referral for one man into rehab — a huge step towards recovery and a new beginning. We also supported someone with complex housing needs who was living in a tent, and we’re grateful that they will now be housed tomorrow morning.

We want to say a special thank you to the HOP team for working alongside us and helping make this possible. Partnership and unity are so important when supporting vulnerable people in our communities.

We are also incredibly grateful to work alongside Fountains Church and support the amazing work they are already doing within the community. Fountains provides a safe and welcoming space where people can come in for a warm meal, a hot drink, support, and connection. It’s a place where people can feel comfortable, valued, and listened to.

It is a blessing to work together with the team at Fountains so we can help resolve issues people may be facing, whether simple or complex, while also ministering to and supporting those who are struggling. By churches, organisations, and outreach teams working closely together, we can make a much greater impact in people’s lives.

Our goal is simple:
To make sure people feel seen, heard, and valued — and to remind them that change is always possible.

Today in Bradford was a powerful reminder of what can happen when people and organisations come together to support the community.

Throughout the day on our weekly outreach, we worked alongside local organisations, churches, and support services to help people facing homelessness, addiction, vulnerability, and complex housing situations. By working together, we were able to support people with housing advice, benefits, referrals, and pathways into recovery and accommodation.

We spent time with people who simply needed someone to listen, someone to care, and someone willing to walk alongside them. One man we met was lying on the floor, so we stopped, checked on his welfare, gave him a warm drink, and made sure he knew he wasn’t alone.

We also encouraged people to come into Fountains Church, where there was a warm meal, hot drinks, friendship, and a safe space for people to open up about what they are going through. The Fountains team were amazing as always, coming alongside us to help support people practically, emotionally, and spiritually.

We finished the day with a Bible study, and it was encouraging to see people from different backgrounds coming together, learning about faith, asking questions, and experiencing real community. There was such a peaceful atmosphere and a real sense of hope in the room.

This is why partnership matters. When communities, churches, charities, and organisations stand together, lives can begin to change. No one organisation can do everything alone, but together we can make a real difference to people who feel forgotten or have nowhere else to turn.

At the Light Group, and we are passionate about shining light into the darkest places across our towns and cities while bringing people together to support those most in need. ❤️🙏

Today we were out in Bradford city for our weekly outreach, connecting with people who are suffering from homelessness, addiction, and anyone in need of support. We spent time sitting down, listening to people’s stories, and offering encouragement, warm drinks, and snacks.

Afterwards, we attended the drop-in at Fountains Church in Bradford, where people were welcomed with a hot meal and a warm drink in a safe and supportive environment. It’s always amazing to see churches, organisations, and the local community coming together to support those who are struggling. Working together allows us to better meet people’s individual needs and help guide them towards the right support and opportunities for change.

We’re passionate about supporting people, walking alongside them, and helping them find hope, recovery, and a way forward.

We will be at Fountains Church every Thursday from 12pm onwards. If you know anyone struggling with homelessness or addiction, please reach out — we are here to help, support, and guide people onto the right path.

Bradford outreach today 🙏

Thank you to everyone we met and spoke with across the city. Today was about showing up, offering support, and reminding people that they are not forgotten.

We were able to hand out hot drinks, food, essentials, and have some important conversations with people facing homelessness, addiction, and difficult circumstances.

After outreach, we then collected sleep pods for the homeless from Focus For Hope, and we are incredibly grateful for their continued support and generosity. Partnerships like this make a real difference and help us reach more people in need.

Every conversation matters. Every act of kindness matters. Sometimes the smallest bit of support can be the start of real change.

Thank you to everyone who supports what we do and helps make days like today possible.

A powerful day out in Bradford today 🙏

We were joined by CSSM as we prayed with people, listened to their needs, and supported them towards accommodation and rehab.

The team came together in such a strong way—showing love, compassion, and real action for those facing homelessness and addiction.

Today in Bradford, we spent time out on the streets connecting with people and offering support where it was needed most.

We were able to sit with individuals, listen to their stories, and understand their needs without judgment. Sometimes the most important thing we can do is simply be present and show that someone cares.

Alongside this, we made referrals to housing associations and local food banks to help people take practical steps towards stability and support. Every conversation mattered, and every small step forward is significant.

Outreach is not just about providing resources — it’s about building trust, restoring dignity, and reminding people they are not alone.

Grateful for every person we met today. 🙏 ❤️

Today we were out on outreach in Leeds, spending time connecting with people on the streets and offering support where we could.
During the outreach we were able to direct people to the Monday drop-in at Leeds Minster, where we gather to offer warm drinks, snacks, food, prayer, and a time of worship. It’s a space where people can come in from the streets, be welcomed, and know they’re not alone.
We was also able to refer someone into Saviour’s Trust, which is a real step forward for someone experiencing homelessness.
Outreach is often about these small but important steps,conversations, pointing people to safe places, and helping open doors that could lead to change. For many people, just knowing there is somewhere they can go and someone willing to walk alongside them makes a huge difference.
Please keep praying for the people we meet on outreach. Pray that those who were invited will come along on Monday, and that the right support and opportunities open up for those trying to move forward.
