Sam Keighley, VCSE System Lead for Health and Care in Bradford District and Craven, is hosting an online monthly drop-in for VCSE colleagues.

A space for open discussions, to ask questions, to share insight about pressures and challenges in your organisations, and for Sam to provide updates from across the Health and Care System, and how these might affect the VCSE sector.

Community Action Bradford & District and Bradford Council have partnered to bring a Funding Finder back to the district's voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector. It is the first time in over five years that this resource has been available in Bradford.

Bingley Bubble Community Partnership Small Grants 2026/27

Bingley Bubble Community Partnership are currently running their small grants programme for 2026/27.
Grants for any amount up to ยฃ5,000 are available for groups or individuals who can deliver project work relating to one or more of Bingley Bubble CPs priority population groups (those identified as having higher health needs).
These are:
๐ŸŒŸ Elderly, frail and housebound
๐ŸŒŸCarers (including young carers)
๐ŸŒŸChildren and young people with additional needs (up to 25 years old)

A small information pack is available with ideas for projects [see link in comments]

Applicants must be based, or operate, in the communities served by Bingley Bubble GP practices

The Northern Powergrid Foundation's Warm Spaces Support Fund is back!

But hurry, the fund will close once it has reached 60 applicants and/or funds have been allocated.

Following their previous pilot programme, they have reviewed and expanded the fund to support more community organisations providing vital warm, safe and welcoming spaces for local people during the winter months.

Eligible organisations can apply for grants of ยฃ250 to ยฃ1,000 to help maintain, enhance or expand existing warm hub and warm space activities.

Through our Community Outreach Programme, we offer free specialist support to help groups with governance and policies, volunteering, safeguarding, funding and fundraising, training and upskilling, payroll, networking and much more.

Do you work in the VCSE sector in Bradford District and Craven?

VCSE System Lead for Health and Care, Sam Keighley, is hosting monthly drop-ins and she wants to hear from you! This is an opportunity to have open discussions, ask any questions, share insights about pressures and challenges you face in your organisation. Sam will also share updates from across the Health and Care System and how these might affect our sector.

Chloe is Service Lead at Step 2 Young People's Health and now, a VCSE Sector Advocate within the Healthy Minds space with The VCS Alliance.

As an Advocate, she has the opportunity to attend ICB meetings, sharing her insight with colleagues and system partners.

A new girls-led climate leadership programme is launching in Bradford, co-delivered by Real Hope Initiative CIC, Voice4Change England (V4CE), GENCGOV and the University of Bradford

The launch event brings together community leaders, practitioners and partners to help co-design the programme from the ground up, shaping how it's delivered across Bradford.

๐Ÿ‘ Upcoming changes for concessionary passes. ๐Ÿ‘

Following the capping of bus fares at ยฃ2 and free summer travel for children under 16, eligible disabled people will get free bus travel all day, every day as of 1 April 2027.

As part of the government's wider commitment to better, affordable, reliable buses, time restrictions on concessionary passes will be lifted, giving breathing space from the cost of living.

Prime Minister Andy Burnham said:
Buses are a lifeline for so many people - making it easier to get to work, education and healthcare. Itโ€™s simply not right that many disabled people cannot travel using their pass during certain times of the day. So weโ€™re fixing that. Disabled people will now have unlimited free bus travel 24/7.
