Day 5... and I’m officially at the point where my socks feel like they’re made of sandpaper.

Today’s route takes me 15.3 miles from Bulford to Nunton. It’s a bit of a milestone day: the halfway mark is behind me, but the finish line in Bournemouth still feels a long way off.

My feet are complaining, but my heart is full. Every mile covered is another pound raised toward those new playgrounds at Bisure and Nyamwanga ECD.

When things get tough, I just picture the children finally having a safe place to play, laugh, and just be kids. That’s what keeps me putting one foot in front of the other. 💛

Turning steps into swings.

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated or shared the journey so far. We’re really making this happen together.

Not the update I wanted to share today.

After three consecutive 18+ mile days, my right knee and left leg had other ideas. I made the decision to stop at 8.5 miles today rather than risk turning a setback into a serious injury.

63.5 miles completed so far. Recovery mode is on, and we’ll see what tomorrow brings. 💪

Day 4: Woodborough to Bulford. 16.9 miles. 👟

My legs are definitely starting to have a conversation with me today... and it’s mostly just them asking for a seat.

But then I think about the playground equipment we’re replacing and how much a safe swing means to a child, and the aches don't seem so bad anymore. Woodborough to Bulford is 16.9 miles of putting one foot in front of the other to make that happen. 💛

Day 3 is in the books... and my legs are definitely starting to feel it now. 17.7 miles from Hook to Woodborough today.

It sounds like a lot when you say it out loud, doesn't it? 😅

There were moments today where the finish line felt like it was moving further away with every step. But then I think about why I'm actually doing this.

I’m walking so that the kids at Bisure and Nyamwanga ECD don’t have to play on rusted, broken frames. I’m walking to turn these steps into swings. 💛

Every mile today is one step closer to our £4,000 goal. 100% of what you donate goes directly to the projects through ; no admin costs, just pure impact.

18.4 miles. My legs are definitely reminding me that I’m not exactly a professional athlete today... 😅

Day 2 takes me from Cirencester to Royal Wootton Bassett. It’s a slightly longer stretch than yesterday, and I think I’ve discovered muscles I didn’t even know existed.

But every time I feel like stopping for a very long nap in a field, I think about why I’m doing this. I think about the kids in Kenya who just want a safe place to be children.

We’re walking to replace rusted, dangerous equipment with something sturdy and joyful. Knowing that every single penny you donate goes directly to those swings through The Boo Charity makes every blister worth it.
