Smile International is a Christian organisation passionate about helping to relieve suffering and poverty around the world through our Feeding, Educating, Empowering and Developing programmes – turning tears into smiles. ional was founded in March 2000 by Clive and Ruth Doubleday and since the charity’s formation has seen dramatic growth, starting with helping the refugees who flooded into Macedonia in 1999 after the ethnic cleansing in Kosovo and we now work in Africa, Asia and Europe. The charity is run on strong ethical and Christian principles and offers help to those in need, regardless of ethnicity, nationality or religious belief.

Every year, International Widows Day brings the opportunity to raise awareness of the difficulties widows have to face, to share their stories and have their voice heard, and to empower widows everywhere so that they can support themselves and their children and not fall deeper into the depths of poverty.
A fantastic way to support these precious ladies is through our Widow Sponsorship project, so we can keep being there for them during the tough times and keep them smiling! If you would like to be a part of this, then please make a donation today on International Widow's Day or sign up to Sponsor a Widow for £25 a month, (just 83p a day) and share a smile of support together in the hardest of times.
