We are a group of 23 at the moment – 15 women and 8 men who go out onto the Boscombe streets and beaches to engage with the local community and happy to support and assist anyone, young or old, who might find themselves in a vulnerable situation. Often, we find ourselves in the p
osition of offering support to those who are rough sleepers, or for whatever, reason are finding life difficult. Late at night we are happy to listen and support where we can. Last winter we handed out a considerable number of sleeping bags to rough sleepers. Throughout the year Boscombe Angels are out every Friday night from 9pm on the precinct in Boscombe and in the surrounding area. If the 02 Academy is open on Saturdays we will also be a presence on those nights. We have no special authority; we are simply there to support people, whoever they are and whatever their situation, for example by listening, caring, offering practical help or by referring people to other (specialist) agencies who can help them. We enjoy the support of Bournemouth Borough Council and our local Police in this venture.
