4th Farnworth - All Saints Scout Group

🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️ WHAT A WEEKEND! 🏃‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏊‍♂️

The 4th Farnworth Scout Group were out in full force last weekend volunteering at IRONMAN 70.3 Bolton!

We absolutely love supporting this incredible event every year. It’s always such a brilliant atmosphere, and our young people and parents had a fantastic time getting stuck into the action.

Here is what we got up to:

Friday Evening: We kicked things off as Marshals for the Night Run, cheering on the runners and keeping everyone safe and on track.

Sunday: We were back at it as T2 (Transition 2) Assistants! Our team was super busy racking the blue swimming bags, making sure the athletes collected the right gear and bikes, and staying until the very end to help dismantle the transition area.

A massive thank you to all the amazing scouts, parents, and leaders who gave up their weekend and worked so hard. You represented 4th Farnworth brilliantly! And a huge congratulations to all the athletes who took part—you are all truly inspiring. 🌟

Our friends over at Unity Drama group are gearing up for their next show as Peter Pan flies into Farnworth! Friday night is SOLD OUT but tickets for the two Saturday shows are still available. Get them before they all go.

A successful day at our first Headquarters Maintenance Day for 2026 yesterday. We are always looking for help with maintenance and looking for volunteers to assist with this. Look out for the dates throughout the year if you can spare a few hours.

At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them.

What a fantastic morning we had celebrating remembrance in the heart of our community this morning.

All of the leaders are so proud of our children and young people, they were so smart and so well behaved. Special shout outs to our flag bearers, readers and wreath layers.

What a fabulous morning we had today, celebrating our 101st birthday, and the end of our centenary year celebrations. Thanks to everyone who came down to join us and to our DLV for overseeing the formal part of the day. Here's to the next 100 years!

Our Beavers got busy looking after the area around our Headquarters this week. We litter picked for 40 minutes and got six bags of rubbish!

And that's a wrap!... Another year of volunteering to support the Ironman Bolton uk. We had 40 volunteers over two days marshalling at the night run on Friday and all day today helping athletes and ensuring a smooth transition at T2.

Huge thank you to our young people, adult volunteers, parents and siblings, we couldn't do it without all your support! 🎉

This Saturday, 10th May, we will be holding a coffee morning. This will give people the chance to pop in for a brew and a biscuit, to have a chat with our volunteer team.

This is a great opportunity to find out about volunteering opportunities with our thriving scout group!

If you are interested in a place for your child, please be aware that we have a very small number of spaces available in Beavers (6-8) and Scouts (10.5-14). Our Cubs (8-10.5) section is currently full. We also have spaces in Chimera Explorer Scout unit (14-18).
