FOUND safe and well🙏🏻

Could everyone reading please take a second to share this post. This young girls family and friends must be beside themselves.

Missing from Boldon Colliery at 3:30am on 12/06/2026.

Anybody in the area at the time or even with ring doorbell or dash cams, it’s more than worth checking as any detail could help.

At last nights CAF, two choices were given around the Housing Capital budget.

Either an equal split between wards or by proportion or council houses. This meant that depending on the vote outcome Boldon Colliery would receive either £26,155 or £30,428.

Thanks to our councillors, Boldon secured the higher amount with the vote resulting in a 6-5 vote for an equal split. Definitely the right decision for our community.

However what I did find rather concerning and hope it was genuine confusion around his first chair meeting, was the chairs response, thinking he had the final say, in which the lower voted option was attempted to be pushed through. Not showing a display of true democracy.

In this type of position, opinions should be set aside and the majority vote is acted upon so decisions are truly democratic, regardless of how we feel about it.

Again I’d like to thank the chair and congratulate him on his new role, wishing the best moving forward for future CAF meetings and take on board any constructive advice he’s been given following the meeting. 🙂

What an experience! Thankyou Roberto🐝

After being invited to Boldon Bees, with a few of the Boldon Community Group members, I am over the moon to have experienced what it’s like to be a beekeeper.

From tasting ALL the different types of honey, grabbing a bee suit and checking out the hives, to holding hi dress of bees at once…the depth and knowledge from Roberto is second to none. All while highlighting how important these little creatures are.

I would recommend this experience to anyone…if it’s not your thing then even just popping in to purchase some of the natural honey or array of different products offered will all help support.

Once again thank you for today Roberto and best of luck expanding moving forward 😁👍

P.S, no we didn’t get stung 😅

I know this an issue that could affect us locally so I decided to share the petition that has been set up by Joanna Taylor to save Stanley’s. Link below, and in comments.

It’s sad to see that our current Reform council have mislead residents in the idea that they can’t alter the previous decision made by Labour, when this appears to not be the case, going by what the local MP statement says, they can in fact alter it…🫤

While the decision will in short term save, in the long run it will cost more with the added pressures to the services that this service reduces strain on. Such as social care, SEN services, employment support programmes and more.

** GRASS CUTTING **
Regarding the grass cutting in Boldon Ward & Southtynside.
After a discussion with this department, i understand the issues, they will be updating all very soon, I will re-post the information when I receive it.
But a full overview of this service needs attention, as I’m now on the ( OVERVIEW & SCRUTINY ) Committee, this will be discussed, I think a full restructuring is needed, I came up with ideas in the past but nothing came of it, let’s try again 🫡🫵🏼

What’s your thoughts ?
Anyone with other idea ?

Brooke Avenue garages seem to be getting overgrown and just looking overall, rundown. I’m not sure these are still in use? However if so it would be great to find out otherwise.

I’ll be following up with a report to see if we can try and make them look a little tidier.

Residents of The Terrace have been suffering with this area of the lane filling with water during heavy rain causing access issues to their properties.

I have looked into it and found that the lane itself is private and not maintained at public expense, but believe that the council have the right to issue a litter to the land owners or those that maintain the area to prompt action to mitigate the issues.

I will be monitoring to see if any action is taken moving forward and updating as I find out more🙂
