Paradice 2026!

Paradice is an annual gaming convention based in Worthing. It’s next weekend!

Apart from the marketplaces where you’ll be able to buy new and second hand games at massively reduced prices, there are dedicated zones for roleplaying and social deduction as well as play test areas where manufacturers will bring games currently in development for you to try out and offer feedback on. There are mechanisms by which you can join planned games throughout the weekend and it’s a great opportunity to hang out with old and new friends and have a proper geek fest!

We will be going along with the side mission of buying 2-3 more board games for our collection. We always try to buy games that have a wide appeal, teach basic game mechanics and are suitable for a diverse gaming group. Anyone got any suggestions for games we should look to buy?

After our successful move to a larger venue in 2025, we are set to deliver an even bigger and better games convention in 2026 – Paradice will once again take place at Worthing Leisure Centre which is conveniently located around 1.5 miles from central Worthing, and across the road from Durrington t...

We will be opening the doors of The Shore Café for our “3rd Tuesday” Boardgaming evening tonight at 7pm.

Some of the games on offer will include the usual table-fillers, like Splendor, Pandemic and Azul, and of course we love to see what games YOU will bring along to share with the group.

I’m hoping to play either of these two

Honey Buzz
Honey Buzz is a worker bee placement game where you expand a personal beehive with various honeycomb tiles that grant actions in the game. Whenever a tile is laid so that it completes a certain pattern, a ring of actions is triggered. Build your hive, carefully place your beeples (bee+meeple) and develop an economy. After all, in the honey business, efficiency is queen.

The Gig
In The Gig, players are members of a jazz group improvising their way through a song, vying for the spotlight, and trying to please the audience while working up mind-blowing solos!

Both of these games are rated at over 7/10 on boardgamegeek.

Friendly table hosts will teach you the rules and help you get going, and there’ll be the usual great cafe drinks and snacks on the menu. As always, feel free to bring your own refreshments if you choose.

We will be opening the doors of The Shore Café for our “1st Tuesday” Boardgaming evening tomorrow at 7pm.

Some of the games on offer will include these 2 gems that I’m available to teach.

Evolution
In Evolution, you evolve and adapt your species for survival in a dynamic ecosystem where food is scarce and predators lurk. Traits like Hard Shell and Horns will protect your species from Carnivores, while a Long Neck will help them get food that others cannot reach. With over 4,000 ways to evolve your species, every game becomes a different adventure.

Both of these games are mid-weight, but rated at over 7/10 on boardgamegeek.

The location is excellent - opposite Durrington train station - If you’ve never been to a convention before, this is a nice little one to start with

We’re experimenting with a different weekday for our gathering at The Shore Café. Many people prefer a Tuesday evening, so we will be running a trial of meeting the FIRST and THIRD Tuesdays of the month. This will start with our first meeting of the year on Tuesday 20th January. Hope to see you there!

Anyone having a go at our Codenames challenge? You can put answers in the comments and I’ll tell you your score.

Rules are simple - use the three code words to identify the secret names of your 10 blue agents - don’t guess any red agents or the innocent bystanders, and you deffo don’t want to uncover the assassin or you’ll lose!

Popped up at The Shore Community Church for the festive fun day today.

Looking forward to seeing people tonight for a cosy evening of games. By popular request we will be running at least one game of Pandemic and also a game of Chronicles of Crime will be set up to have a go at. For those who don't want co-op; there's promise of a game of Coffee Rush, which I'm personally looking forward to, and also I'll be bringing along our copy of Honey Buzz if anyone wants to see what all the buzz is about.

We will have our usual copies of Azul, Splendor and also Canvas. Plus so many more... There's a re-skin of social deduction game 'The Resistance' on offer as well as a special RPG table, where those who are curious about this type of gaming can watch a game in progress (and even ask annoying questions, like how many sides are there on that dice? 🤪

Hope to see you there for a cuppa and maybe a few biscuits later
