On Tuesday we had a very special night! We had the perfect 16 dancers on the dance floor, which is always amazing but we had David trying himself first time in teaching! Proud is not a good word here, I AM OVER THE MOON to see him growing into Scottish Dancing!❤️❤️

We welcomed Susan for her first class and Verena and Shirley returned for their 3rd class. They all did absolutely amazing, I loved the energy what Susan brought in the dance floor, when I said turn around, we had great fun. ❤️ Shirley and Verena are doing so well, I love how they started to feel more confident on the dance floor and this is only the start of your journey.❤️
We miss lots of our regulars from the dance floor, but I know it is summer time, so please just come back whenever you are free we will be always so happy to see you back.❤️

We started with A Perfect Match, thanks to Sue for suggesting this dance. 😊 It was huge fun and perfect for warming our brains up. As I told you we all come to the dance with our daily problems, but after the first dance you arrive properly to the dance floor and you know for an hour or two you could relax from all these problems and worries. We had loads of laugh when things didn’t go as we thought.

We tried a new dance Mid-term Joy to practice Rights and Lefts, which turned out as a team of the evening. I picked this dance as we are getting closer to our half year of dancing, this was already 24th class this year. I feel very privileged that we could run our classes all year around and this would not be possible without your enthusiasm.❤️

David came up with the idea to teach Espie McNabb and he did so well the teaching and you all supported him so much. Phill was amazed with your Ready… and! We hope you enjoyed the teaching as well and you will try yourself again soon as a teacher!❤️❤️❤️

As the numbers were perfect for two 4 couple sets, we did The Balmullo Reel, which is such a joyful dance. I couldn’t think that many of you were there, who did this dance before but it went amazing and looked like you all enjoyed it.⭐️⭐️

We did a lovely two couple strathspey A Renaissance Dance. I loved watching you dancing it. Remember, when it is strathspey time we have more time to think, listen the music and become a dancer. We definitely will do it again.❤️

What else we could dance as a last dance on the 16th of June? Of course The 16th of June dance. 😀 It was so much fun, you all loved it and I really enjoyed my little sneaking in to dance with you all.

Phill played beautiful tunes all evening and makes my role so easy supporting me with the right amount of bars. ❤️

Hope to see you all soon!

Another fantastic evening in Bo’ness, 20 dancers and lots of fun!😊

Shirley and Verena came back to their second class and it was fantastic to see their growing confidence. ❤️ We also had Linda join us again after some Ceilidhs, she also did wonderful with all the dances.😊

We started the evening with Wedding at Fingask Castle, we tried a new two facing two dance Welcome to St Columba’s. It has a bit interesting half figure of eight, people on the inside circle do it around their partners and then they repeat, but it caused a little bit of confusion. It was fun though, going a bit different way caused lots of happy moments.😉

We did Flowers of Edinburgh and it went really well. As the numbers were not perfect I kept it in 2 couple sets, but it worked brilliantly. Phill was not able to join us so we used recorded music and we listened some really nice fiddle tunes.❤️

We repeated The Moray Way from two weeks ago and as we had a few newcomers we went through the steps quickly. It was beautiful how all of you danced it and it was lovely to see a full dance floor for a strathspey.
Verena came to me after the dance, how much she loved it and we used again some special fiddle tune it was very special.❤️

We finished the class with June Festival, such a fun dance.☀️

Hope to see many of you next week again.

Last week we had 22 dancers on the dance floor and we welcomed back Rosemary and Rory and Shirley and Verena from Philipstoun for their first class. They did absolutely amazing, as they would danced all of their lives. ❤️

Phill played us great tunes and I think we all agree, live music is really special.❤️

We started with Wedding at Fingask Castle, which was a lovely warm up. Phill and I met the deviser, Holly Boyd first two years ago in Canada, where Phill played on the TAC Summer School and last year in Budapest at their big international weekend.😊

After the Fiona’s Fancy we did Haste to the Wedding with the Poussette, which went so well for each of you.😊

We learnt EH3 7AF, which is called the post code dance as well, it is the post code for the RSCDS Head Office in 12 Coates Crescent. It went so well, you absolutely nailed it and as I told you, this is really a very popular dance, once you decide to dance outside Bo’ness, you must go across this one.❤️

We finished the class with June Festival, went through Allemande for two couples quickly beforehand, You all did it so well, I hope we will repeat this one soon as it was great fun.⭐️

It was really great dancing with you all, thank you so much for joining us.

Hope to see many of you this week.

Last Tuesday we had a great class. 16 dancers on the dance floor with me, so not too many photos but lots of fun dances we did.😉

It was a bit different to do the class without Phill, but he needed to stay at home to look after our little sick girl. Thank you all for your help in the set up of the speaker, I completely forgot what to do with it… I think we are very spoiled by the live music by Phill.❤️

After warm up we did The Balmullo Reel which is such a fun 4 couple square set dance! It went so well, even we repeated! ❤️As the numbers were perfect for another square set we did The Piper and the Penguin, we all loved it!⭐️

The Moray Way was a lovely strathspey definitely we will repeat it! In the dance the dancing couple’s role is changing from 1st couple to 2nd and finally to 3rd couple. I loved the look of it.❤️

We finished the class with the Flowers of Dunbeg as we had 5 couples.🪻

I was super proud to all of you, some of you who started not too long ago should see yourself how much confidence you gained in the past few months! Great fun dancing with you all!❤️❤️

Summer is finally here, at least at the moment it is super sunny!☀️☀️

Last week we welcomed some visitors at our class for first time and we had 28 dancers on the dance floor. Cindy’s mum and Jackie’s daughter joined us and Erin and Dermot a lovely young couple, who will getting married later this year, came along to learn a bit more Ceilidh dancing.🥂

That was the reason why I put some Wedding theme together and we all had a great time.❤️

We started with Canadian Barn Dance and continued with The Wedding Breakfast. Haste to the Wedding is a lovely dance, we refreshed our Poussette. We did The Cramond Wedding, which is a wonderful strathspey, we altered the first 8 bars and it was a tiny bit harder then I first thought, but I was so PROUD of each of you, you didn’t give it up and although at the walk throughs you had doubts, how this will go it went SUPERB! I was really pleased, how hard you all worked and how beautiful you danced.❤️❤️

We finished the evening with the Wedding Ring, such a great fun and Phill played amazing tunes.❤️

Hope we see many of you tonight!
