Free event for parents/carers

ASN Journey: Parents as Partners Event

This event is for parents and carers of children and young people with additional support needs (ASN). It is open whether a child has a diagnosis, is awaiting assessment, or if parents simply have concerns and would like advice.

Session options:

Evening session: Tuesday 29 September 2026, 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Perth Grammar School
Daytime session: Monday 5 October 2026, 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Riverside Church, Bute Drive, Perth

What attendees can do:

Meet local support services and organisations.
Access information and advice about support available in the area.
Speak directly with local groups that support families.
Network informally with other parents and carers over coffee.

Parent-led workshop topics:

Parents with ASN
Resilience and wellbeing
Support networks and relationships

💔 It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our Team Leader, Pam Armstrong.

Pam was the heart of our team. She was passionate about people, families and communities and always believed in helping others reach their full potential. Her kindness, encouragement and unwavering support touched so many lives.

Pam's vision, values and determination led to the creation of Families Empowering Communities. She believed in the power of communities and was committed to helping people and families thrive.

Many of our clients, partners and colleagues will have known Pam and experienced her warmth, honesty and commitment to making a difference.

She will be deeply missed by all of us, but her legacy will live on through the people and communities she cared so much about.

We will continue the work she was so passionate about and hopefully make her proud.
