🌾 We're looking forward to supporting LeftCoast’s Harvest Festival at the Field of Dreams this Saturday!

The GreenWave team and volunteers will be joining Steve Tomlin from 10am to help harvest the meadow using traditional scything techniques.

The annual cut is an important part of meadow management, helping to maintain a healthy and diverse habitat for wildlife while supporting the long-term future of this fantastic community space.

Alongside the meadow harvest, there'll be plenty of free creative activities and family-friendly events taking place throughout the weekend.

πŸͺΆ Say hello to one of the regulars North Blackpool Pond Trail…

Our resident heron is often spotted around the lake, but what else might we find?

Tomorrow, we’re heading out with binoculars to see what birds we can spot, alongside some path clearing and litter picking.🌿

We’ll also be using iNaturalist to record our sightings, helping us discover more about the wildlife living around the trail. πŸ“

Never used binoculars or iNaturalist? No problem. We’ll show you how.

πŸ¦‹ Have you done your Big Butterfly Count yet? πŸ¦‹

There's still a few days left to take part!

It's a fantastic excuse to get outside, slow down, and see what butterflies you can spot. Whether you're in your garden, your local park, or out on a walk, every butterfly you record helps build a better picture of how our wildlife is doing.

The Big Butterfly Count is one of the UK's biggest citizen science projects, and your sightings really do make a difference. πŸ’š

πŸ“Έ We'd love to see your butterfly photos too! Share them in the comments below. Here are a few of ours to get you started. πŸ¦‹
