How Beauty Against the Big C Began 🤍
Beauty Against the Big C, often known as BABC, was born from a deeply personal experience.
In 2016, I spent a day with my mum at Bartle Hall, where women battling ovarian cancer came together in a supportive, understanding space. That day, she was given the opportunity to receive holistic treatments and enjoy a pamper, something that brought her comfort, relaxation, and a sense of being cared for during an incredibly difficult time.
Seeing the difference that simple acts of kindness, touch, and time made stayed with me. It wasn’t just about treatments, it was about dignity, connection, and being seen as a person, not a diagnosis.
I knew then that I wanted to create something similar, something local, accessible, and rooted in genuine care. That moment is what led to my beauty training being resurrected, not as a career choice alone, but as a way to give back in a meaningful way.
Beauty Against the Big C now offers free beauty and holistic treatments to people who have been directly affected by cancer. These treatments are not about vanity, they are about restoring confidence, easing emotional strain, and offering moments of calm during what can be overwhelming times.
BABC exists to remind people that they still matter, they are still worthy of care, and that kindness can be powerful medicine in itself.
This work is done in memory of my mum, and for everyone who needs a little comfort, compassion, and care when they need it most 🤍
