CazFest Music festival in Herts. Raising money to prevent unidentified heart attacks in young people in Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire and Essex.

An all day summer music event first held in Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire in 2009 with local and popular bands, alongside a wide range of other entertainment, all in memory of Caroline Johnstone. Cazfest was established in 2009 in memory of Caroline Johnstone (Caz) She was a 17 year old student of The Bishops Stortford High School studying for her “A” levels who had hoped to go to Newcastle Uni

versity to study English Language. On June 6th 2008 while with friends at a night club she collapsed and despite the prompt attendance of the medical services she was never able to regain consciousness and the decision was taken to turn off her life support. She died peacefully on June 12th 2008. Cazfest was established with a view to funding the heart screening of all Sixth Form students initially in the Bishops Stortford area but then subsequently to roll the programme out to cover as much of Hertfordshire and Essex as funds allow. Cazfest 2009 was a great success with over 2,500 people attending and raising over £25k. Cazfest 2010 was even bigger with over 3,500 people attending and raising over £30k
