We are always looking for help with pruning and harvesting fruit. A local community orchard located on the Grange Field, Bishops Cleeve (behind Grangefield Primary School). Transition Cleeve would like to involve the local community in taking care of the trees in this area so that a harvest can be taken when it comes to apple picking time! This is a valuable community space where everyone can participate and benefit.

Making space in our store for new equipment. The team have constructed a shelf for storing all the apple juicing and harvesting gear, ready for the end of the growing season. Right now the focus is on mowing, strimming and watering. New volunteers are always welcome!

Tomorrow (Saturday, 22 November) is the start of national tree week brought to you by The Tree Council. It marks the start of the annual tree planting season and celebrates the magnificent mainstays of our landscapes.

Here in our borough, we’re pleased to see new signage at The Grangefield in Bishop’s Cleeve.

🌳 Officers have been out and about with Meggie – the Golden Retriever, to see the installations that we’ve co-designed with Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust and Transition Cleeve and Grangefield Community Orchard These interpretation boards offer a lot of wildlife, tree and vegetation information and we hope residents and visitors will enjoy them for many years to come.
