The Middle Marches Community Land Trust 2026 calendar is now on sale at the reduced price of £15. All monies go towards the purchase of White Grit Meadows near Bishops Castle, wonderful remnant SSSI meadows with huge billowing hedgerows and several rare species of flowers including devils bit scabious and dyers greenweed, plants once relatively common. All below the gaze of Corndon Hill. The calendar is A3 in size with plenty of room for appointments! They come with an envelope. You can pick one up in Bishops Castle or New Invention/Clun or have one posted to you (or as a gift to someone else) for £4.50. Any takers?

Just a week left now until our final event of 2025, a fund raising evening for the White Grit Meadows Appeal - a talk on "The Art of Farming" (how farming has been depicted in art through the centuries) by local art historian Tom Parsons. This will be accompanied by a pie and pudding (supplied by Saxtons of Church Stretton). Not only that but there will also be a mini Winter Art Fair with local artists/craftspeople offering their goodies for sale from wooden jewellery, to stone carving, prints, books, cards, paintings and willow baskets. There are some tickets left at £20pp. Booking is essential via [email protected]

We have sold well over 100 calendars since July and have a little bit of stock left now. Calendars are £20 each (collected) or £24.50 (posted to you). They will make great Christmas presents that can be used through the whole of next year. All 6 artists have donated two pieces of their work free of charge for use in the calendar so all proceeds (less the cost of printing) go straight to the ongoing White Grit Meadows Appeal which now stands at over 30K (the target is 45K). If you would like one, or more, contact Sarah on [email protected] or email the Trust on [email protected]
