Felt Curious

Felt Curious I hand make eco products in wool from my home in rural north east England.

I am a craftsperson working predominantly with wool to make beautiful, tactile and useful products. I am passionate about upcycling existing materials and use as much local wool as possible (so often seen as a waste product) from the farmers around me in the Durham Dales. When this can be incorporated with fabrics and other treasures found in charity shops then even better.

My very first experiment for my felted artwork about adders commissioned by North Pennines National Landscape. I am planning to make lots of small samples focusing on lichens, mosses, ferns etc before I even consider how they might fit together. But to start with, I just had to play around with the jewel that is an adder's eye. Missed a trick by not adding red silk in there. Will just have to make more!!

Had a request yesterday for a set of juggling in different shades of blended colours. I was able to make and dry them in just one day thanks to this glorious weather. They are in the post today and I hope they find a happy home.
