This week it’s National Volunteers Week so we’d like to take this opportunity to extend a HUGE heartfelt thanks to all our adult and young leader volunteers who help run our units and give girls the fun, new experiences, skills and friendship that Girlguiding brings. Our weekly meetings would literally not run without you. 🌟 🌟 🌟

Awesome amount

Wow! A massive thank you to all who supported the duck race.
We’ve raised a total of £7538.05 for our community. That’s £4029.45 for Birstall Scouts and £3508.60 between the other community groups who had money generating stalls.
Thank you for prizes, thank you for buying ducks, thank you for coming along on the day.

Thank you to everyone who supported us at the duck race, whether that was donating prizes or coming down and seeing us on the stall today.
We raised an amazing £374.96 towards the guide hut floor 🥳

Come down to the White Horse Duck Race and try your hand at winning a prize on our string pull or hooking a duck. All proceeds will go towards our ongoing building improvements. Open 12-4pm, duck race at 2pm.

Happy World Thinking Day! 💙

World Thinking Day is a celebration of 10 million girls worldwide that has taken place on every 22 February since 1926 - making it 100 years old today! It remains a day for Girl Guides and Girl Scouts to think of each other and celebrate their communities all around the world.

Yesterday we celebrated with an afternoon of activities for all sections; scavenger hunt, floral headbands, hot chocolate stirrers, Promise key-rings, saying hello in different languages, campfire and s’mores were enjoyed marking 100 years of World Thinking Day. Girlguiding

We would love to hear from anyone in the local area who wants to give volunteering a go. We need adults to help with almost all our groups to enable us to keep providing the guiding programme to local girls.
