For over 40 years, our charity has provided a unique and compassionate service to people across the community who are vulnerable and in need of support. We offer personalised, one to one assistance tailored to each individual, including home visits, shopping support, benefit checks, and befriending services within the comfort of their own homes.
Over the past two years, while facing funding challenges, we have worked hard to streamline our services whilst continuing to support the community through pop up food banks, back to school packs for children, and essential toiletry packs for families in need.
We are now hoping to reintroduce our Home from Hospital service to help reduce hospital readmissions and ease pressure on the NHS. With a simple referral process, we would be able to quickly contact and support individuals who may need help following discharge from hospital. This support could include assistance with weekly shopping, completing forms, attending appointments, or providing sitting services to allow carers some much needed respite. Every service we provide is tailored to the unique needs of the individual.
We are incredibly proud to have received the Queenโs Award for Voluntary Service in 2022 in recognition of our dedication to the community. With the right funding, we would love the opportunity to continue and expand this valuable work across Sandwell, ensuring vulnerable people receive the support, dignity, and companionship they deserve.
