It sounds like a simple question, but having genuine choice over everyday life is incredibly important.

At Family Care Trust, we want the people living within our supported living services to be involved in the decisions that affect them.

From meals and activities to personal goals and how they spend their free time, our role is to listen, encourage and provide support – not make every decision for someone.

Because independence starts with having a voice. 💚

Our project workers can get involved in growing flowers, fruit and vegetables, maintaining our gardens and learning practical horticultural skills throughout the seasons.

Seeing something you've planted, cared for and nurtured grow is incredibly rewarding – and the skills learned along the way can help build confidence, responsibility and independence. 🌻

Our supported living services at Meadow House and Dassett Road provide much more than somewhere to live.

We want the people we support to have choice and control over their everyday lives – from how they spend their time and what they eat to their hobbies, friendships and involvement in the local community.

Animal care is one of the many work-based learning opportunities available to our project workers.

Looking after animals involves responsibility, routine and teamwork – from feeding and checking animals to helping maintain their living areas.

These are real jobs that need doing, giving project workers the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the daily running of the Farm. 💚

We are absolutely delighted to announce that Family Care Trust was named Solihull Non-Profit Champion 2026 at the Solihull Chamber of Commerce Awards on Friday evening!

This award belongs to every single member of our incredible team 👏

From our staff at Newlands Bishop Farm and Berry's Café to our teams at the Blanning Dementia Day Centre, Supported Living, Community Support and Training Services, everyone plays a vital role in making Family Care Trust what it is today.

Our teams' hard work, compassion, dedication and commitment to the people we support make a difference every single day. Whether it's helping someone develop new skills, supporting their independence, providing care or working behind the scenes to keep our services running, this award is a recognition of everything they do.
