Community, Celebration, and Lifesaving Support at the GGN Security Eid Event 🌙✨

On behalf of the BHF Asian Business Board (ABB), we want to extend a massive thank you to the entire team at GGN Security Services - for hosting a truly fantastic Eid Celebration this past Tuesday.

It was an honor for our Birmingham Board members, Sartaj Gill and David Tims, to attend and represent the BHF Asian Business Board, British Heart Foundation. With around 60 guests joining for networking and celebration, the atmosphere was a perfect blend of community spirit and professional connection.

We are incredibly grateful to GGN Security for not only organising such a seamless event but for allowing us the platform to raise awareness and funds. Together, we raised £470.54! 👏👏

Every penny raised goes directly toward life-saving research, helping the BHF tackle heart and circulatory diseases that disproportionately affect the South Asian community.

Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, and supported this initiative. Onwards and upwards! ❤️

Big News from the BHF Asian Business Board! ❤️

We’ve just wrapped up our first Annual General Meeting (March 23rd), and the energy in the room was incredible. We are beyond proud to share that for the 2025-26 period, our collective efforts have raised £62,536.88 net! 👏👏🎉🥳

This isn’t just a number to us. Every penny of this is ringfenced specifically for South Asian cardiovascular research.

we’re doing this:
In our community, heart disease hits harder and younger. For too long, the research hasn't always reflected our specific risks. British Heart Foundation (BHF) is changing that. Their breakthroughs—from heart transplants to life-saving stents—impact millions of lives every year.

By funding research tailored to our heritage, we aren't just raising money; we are literally buying more time for fathers, mothers, and children in our community.

As a board, we know this was a massive team effort. A huge thank you to our National founder and National Chair Amina Hussain for leading the way, and to our Birmingham Board, Chair Harmesh Singh, Vice Chair Sartaj Gill, Hemant K. Patel Trina Tiernan Kamran Saleem, Jagruti Duggal, Simon Caulton, Mahmudur Jaigirdar and Mabs Ali for your relentless drive.

Our amazing ambassadors and volunteers like Kash The Flash Gill, Daksha Chef D, Amani Jaigirdar, and the friends who championed us behind the scenes you are the heartbeat of this initiative. Special thanks to Teresa Hicks, James Rogers, Zoe Roberts and Balvinder Kaur for your unwavering support.

We recently installed a red bench in Shirley, in 'living memory' of a Solihull mum-of-two with a rare heart condition. ❤️

Thanieth Khan is one of just 65 people across the UK chosen by the British Heart Foundation (BHF) to take part in their national campaign, celebrating 65 years of the charity funding life-saving cardiovascular research.

Last week, BHF Asian Business Board, British Heart Foundation were out in the community raising awareness for February Heart Month.

Hosted by Park Girls School, womens wellbeing group, at Birmingham City Football Club, BMet and Joseph Chamberlain Sixth Form College, the team were put through their paces.

Roberts demonstrated critical CPR techniques giving practical skills for participants for life!

What a great start to the year! ❤️

The BHF Asian Business Board met this week at RBC Brewin Dolphin Birmingham for our first session of 2026. A huge thank you to Mabs Ali for hosting us!

We’ve got a brand-new committee in place and the energy is incredible. We spent the session mapping out an exciting calendar of events for the year ahead.

We’re all about finding "fresh and great" ways to raise money for life-saving research, but we’re making sure we have plenty of fun while doing it! ⛳🥂

We are extremely excited and will be sharing national news with what we have planned to support British Heart Foundation focusing on fundraising activities which will raise more funds ringfenced for South Asian cardiovascular research.
