Birchfield Community Association Birchfield Community Association was created as a legacy of the eleven-year Big Local programme in Birchfield.

The charity aims to connect the gifts, passions, and skills of local people to help make the area an even better place to live and work.

Looking forward to the Birchfield Windrush Celebration this Monday, June 22nd (3.30 – 7.00 pm), at the Birchfield Community Hub, located at Wilton Road United Reformed Church, 13 Wilton Road, Handsworth B20 3RX. The event will feature live music, displays, arts & crafts workshops, games, and food and refreshments. We will be launching an exhibition showcasing portraits of the Windrush Generation, created by two talented local young photographers, Safina Hector and Rose Anderson.

Please join us at Birchfield Community Hub, Wilton Road United Reformed Church B20 3RX, to celebrate the Windrush Generation and their contributions to community life. We will be launching a photographic exhibition – Birchfield Windrush Generation – by two young photographers, Rose and Safina. There will be displays, live music, food and refreshments, games, and arts and crafts for all the family.

Saf and Rose, two young photographers, conducting their second photoshoot for the Birchfield Windrush Celebration. They took images of seven more Seniors for an exhibition launching on Windrush Day at the Birchfield Community Hub, located at Wilton Road URC in Handsworth. A special thanks to Donna Bridgewater for mentoring the young photographers, and to MHCLG for funding the event and exhibition through the Windrush Day Grant Scheme 2026.

Saf and Rose, two young photographers, are working on a photographic exhibition that honours the Windrush Generation and their descendants in Birchfield. The exhibition will showcase a collection of photographs, portraits, and video stories. It is set to launch on Windrush Day (22 June) at the Birchfield Community Hub, located at Wilton Road URC in Handsworth. Special thanks to Donna Bridgewater for mentoring the young photographers.
